loafimus 08-08-2005, 07:41 PM This is only 1/2 element related but the beast is there none the less =) The wife was so jeleous of me getting my dream car that she made me buy her her dream car. And she had to make sure we got matching colors...

I'll try to get some pics of them outside next time so they show up a little better. I like to think of the beetle as the turd my element dropped.
mtb20x 08-08-2005, 09:24 PM you've got the two opposite ends of the spectrum there with a box on wheels and a bubble on wheels. you could set up some cool pictures with those in the daylight.
dj se7en 08-08-2005, 09:27 PM So which one's the Beauty? hehehe...
wmk7479 08-08-2005, 09:55 PM So which one's the Beauty? hehehe...
Yeah really... the poor Beetle doesn't have to be called a beast... geez. :)
Hajidub 08-08-2005, 10:28 PM With the E being my first non-vw...I have to say I'll never purchase a new Dub again! Just took my wifes Passat in for the 20K service, $497 I almost dropped another nut! Outrageous for a glorified oil-change.
loafimus 08-08-2005, 10:41 PM eek. Don't tell me that. Well, then again considering this car is going to be basically for getting my wife to and from work, it'll take a while for 20k miles since we live less then a mile away. It took almost 4 years to get our civic to 18k miles and it was our main car.
hiker chick 08-09-2005, 06:57 AM Geometric extremes. Very cool.
Do you have matching bud vases? :)
loafimus 08-09-2005, 08:03 AM I thought that little vase thing in the VW was a shot glass... whops.
admiller 08-09-2005, 09:27 AM WOW that looks like our driveway!!!! My wife has a dark blue Bug and I have an S.O.P. Element (I also have a red 240sx)
Elemen-O-P 08-09-2005, 11:42 AM WOW that looks like our driveway!!!! SAME HERE!!! Except the lady has a Sunflower Yellow Beetle.. and me an EBP..
loafimus 08-09-2005, 11:48 AM What is your guy's experiences with the beetle? This is only the second time I've bought a non-Honda, and the first time was a nightmare. I tried to talk her into an Accord, but she was hell bent on the beetle.
Century Plant 09-11-2005, 04:09 AM thats pretty funny. My sister has a blue beetle and I have blue element. Haha.
gusnboogs 10-25-2005, 09:59 PM hey where can I get a screw aero sticker. Do you live in chi town? I think I have seen your ride in linclon park. GO SOX
rodaniel 10-26-2005, 06:41 AM WOW that looks like our driveway!!!! My wife has a dark blue Bug and I have an S.O.P. Element (I also have a red 240sx)
Ditto here! My wife has an '04 New Beetle Convertible named Caliente! (http://www.2dolphins.com/caliente.htm)
We're known at work as the couple with the funky cars. I love 'em both. The New Beetle is far more roomy inside than I ever would've imagined. In fact, it has just as much headroom but nearly twice the (front) passenger legroom than my E.
Rob
rodaniel 11-05-2005, 08:23 PM We had the cars pulled out of the garage today to finally get some paint on the bare sheetrock in there so Dede snagged this pic while I manned the paintroller...

Headroom does not count in a convertable!

CALIENTE!!!!!!!
Sup!
I guess this is the Beetle/Element thread...so I need to post mine!
MWSCOOTERS 11-21-2005, 03:04 PM Could'nt resist:)
spayment 11-21-2005, 04:27 PM Unrelated topic but I'm curious...
Why do many people bother to "black out" their license plate numbers whenever they post a picture of their vehicle?
Is there some rampant license plate identity theft ring out there that I'm unaware of? And if there was such a thing, couldn't thieves just copy down license plate numbers of vehicles they see in the street? Why would they have to bother with finding such info on the internet? It just seems like a wierd bit of over-precaution to me. What's the fear? :?
(Those actually in the Federal witness protection program, need not answer...) :D

I am curious too. I figured it was written in plain sight somewhere in the rules for the forum or some major article circulated, and asking would just show how oblivious or lazy I was to have not read this. But since YOU asked, I will just continue to play dumb and hope someone answers YOUR question. :)
rodaniel 11-22-2005, 10:55 AM Great to see you here, Antoine! Knowing your knack for interesting photography, I'm anxious to see what other NB & E combo pictures you come up with.is
Off-topic, I know, but is the DFW NB group planning any kind of "Toys for Tots" run this year? Seems like I had heard that you guys had done something like this a couple of years back...
Rob
marvins_dad 11-22-2005, 01:13 PM Yeah - color me shocked to see your post as well...I remember Dede telling me you guys had one a while back, but it really didn't register in my brain until I saw this thread.
Toy run...we usually do, but I'm not sure what they are planning on doing this year. It's normally in tandum with the Irving Christmas Parade. Here's a thread I started to get them talking (we did mention it at the meeting, just nothing has been done yet)

I gotta figure out how to get a photo through the open side doors in the element and Marvin in the background...that's my first photo idea I've had.

You would be amazed at what people can find on the world wide web. I know it does not work in every state but there is actually a website that allows you to look up license plates for owner and address information. For people who have expensive audio/video equipment or other big ticket items, advertising their E complete with possible location information may be less than desirable. Also, some people just like to play it safe because you just never know who's lurking out there.
Hope that helps.
