I have a splendid 2005 EX with the 7 speaker system. Here are my EQ settings.
For FM radio:
Sub: C
Low: C
High: +1
For XM radio I use:
Sub: -1
Low: -1
High: +1
For CDs I use:
Sub: +1
Low: C
High: +1 or C
I got my speakers but they're not installed yet. I'm sure they'll change these setings.

I've upgraded all my speakers except the sub. Nothing major, just some Pioneers up front, sony's in the back and JML tweeters. ABout a $200 upgrade, much cleaner sound then stock.
I've got the following - 95% of time listening to XM:
Sub -1
Bass +2
Treble +3

I upgraded the front four components with Polks. Sounds real nice.
95% of the time I listen to an iPod, either through the Belkin charger or the AUX cable directly. The latter requires a higher volume setting.
Sub +1
Bass +1
Treble +1
Fader Front +3
For CDs:
Sub 0
Bass 0
Treble 0
Fader Front +3
When I am driving alone I usually set the rear speakers for ambience only. When the kids are back there I will increase the rear volume a bit more, but not enough to blow our their brains (they can do that when they're teenagers).

I do:
sub +4
bass +3
treb +4
that's across the board for FM, CD and MP3 player.
Although sometimes i'll go:
sub MAX
bass +5
treb MAX
for my MP3 when I want to "bump" my music.
lol.

sub +3
bass +4
treb MAX
this seems to work for everything unless when I occasionally bump the sub to MAX :-)

I don't really adjust for different media. My settings are:
For FM radio:
Sub: +2
Treb: +4 or 5
Bass: +2
My only gripe is that when using an iPod, I have to turn the volume way high (either on the iPod or radio) to return to normal listening levels.
Anyone have suggestions as to how I could resolve this issue? I use a standard 3.5mm 18" shielded male-to-male connector.

Use the Belkin auto kit. It has a line out adjustment and connects via the dock connector. It has a much cleaner sound than using the headphone jack (because it doesn't cut out any of the frequencies) as well as being volume adjustable. I picked one up for 99c on ebay.

For rock, jazz, or classical CDs:
Sub = -1
Treb= 0
Bass= 0
For HipHop, Drum & Bass, or Trance stuff:
Sub = +1
Treb= 0
Bass= +1
For iPod:
Sub = +1
Treb= +1
Bass= -1
I find that if I need more bass, it sounds better to trim the bass itself down and crank the sub. Clearer that way.
All of this is general - I usually adjust the damn thing for different songs.
