: Microfiber towel-Where to get?

I have looked over the threads with microfiber and the autotopia site. I have been looking locally but want to know who found what where to get a good drying towel?

WallyWorld had Microtex by Calderon Textiles and a three pack (good for panels) and a bigger size but not sure if it is really a good choice for paint.

One of the auto parts chains had a Meguirs polishing microfiber. It is soft but not very good at drying.

Bed Bath and Beyond has an Aquos waffle weave hair towel that is microfiber but passed cause it did not look right.

With so many very particular people I figure somebody has to have found a holy grail product in a store. Or are you ordering online?

What can you tell me on what and where? Thanks.

I had a similar question and have posted questions about microfiber towels, to several auto websites. This is what I found out.

If you don't want to order microfiber towels, Target has "VROOM" brand towels.

I have heard that they work well, but don't cost a great deal of money.

If you want to order something a bit more fancy and higher quality, try Meguiar's website at: www.meguiars.com. Go to the "e-store" and search "towels".

They have microfiber and terry towels, as well as water absorbing towels. They also have a message board for questions. Many people I've run across praise their products.

You can also check out a new website I found that deals with car detailing. It is at: www.detailcity.com.

I haven't used microfiber towels yet, but I'll be trying the "VROOM" towels first.

Costco has them, I think I paid around $9.00 for 20 towels.

My local Costco had some bulk ones but nothing that looked spectacular. Actually most of the ones I have seen seemed cheap and small.

What I really wanted was a larger one and maybe waffle weave since some say that soaks up and drys better. I'll have to check my Target for Vroom.

I got the impression that you really wanted a higher quality drying towel. With the way some folks here do three layer wax, claying, 6 hour cleaning sessions, etc, I figured there to be more info and some serious brand loyalty with this passionate bunch.

Maybe I am reading too much into a towel?

These are the ones I buy for my business. I go through about 100 of them per month. The costco ones aren't really high quality. But they absorb pretty well and are available at a great price point.

Sam's Club has 18 for $9. They are really thick, much better then those I'd picked up at walmart in the past.

What were the towels called, that you got from Sam's Club?

Were they in the auto section of the store, or were they where they have household towels?

Thanks in advance!

I love microfiber. It's all I use. I buy some large good quality ones from http://www.pakshak.com/. I also have like three packages of the Sams blue microfibers. Can't beat 18 of them for under ten bucks. Wash them in the washer before using them. Don't use any fabric softner.

Don't forget if they don't want to absorb water at first, just wet and ring thoroughly and then dry your car. Also they are THE best towels(dry) for wax removal, they get into all the cracks and crevices, but nobody ever mentions this.
you guys & gals are lucky, when I first started using micro-fiber they were $20 each and the size of a washcloth, Tim

Microfiber towels are not all the same. I got some Viper brand towel included in my Blackfire New Car Kit purchased here http://www.properautocare.com/blacnewcarki.html and also bought some microfiber towels at Target. The Viper brand are clearly superior; they are sticky as spider webs yet soft at the same time. The Target bought towels aren't much different from normal cotton towels. I'd certainly pay $5 a towel for the higher quality. You wanna see the difference between the towels, try wiping down some dirty glass with the towel alone and nothing else. What really sells this towel for me is when you wipe dry wax off your car. The Viper brand towels just cleaned it up with one gentle stroke, the other towel takes several passes using more effort.

There are differences in softness of microfiber towels. I have purchased small cleaning type towels and also some drying towels from this company
www.microfibertech.com
I was very happy with their high quality. That said, I have also purchased a blue microfiber drying towel at Wall Mart and think that it is exceptable. I have also purchased the yellow microfiber towels at Costco and, although they are not as soft as the microfibertech high end towels, they are good for general cleaning. Remember to clean your micro towels in mild detergent (like Woolite) and never use fabric softener when drying them.
