we plan on taking a road trip to san diego from dallas almost imediatlley after picking up the new e , are there still things you need to do , like not go over a certain speed , or change your speed .... thanks

Our dealer told us that there really isn;t a "Break In" period....like with Toyotas for example.....he said just be careful not to be to abrupt with things.....like slamming on the breaks and the like.....basically he was saying don't abuse the E....and drive sensibly.....we went on a road trip two weeks after buying our E...had no problems.

The manual indicates that the first 600 miles should be considered a break-in period. You should avoid jack-rabbit starts, try to drive in a mix of conditions, and avoid long periods at steady speed/rpm (vary your speed slightly).
