OK, time for my first ever chat room experience any where, any time. I have been reading (and salivating) these chats for weeks waiting for the arrival of my SOP EX 4wd. Dealer pleasently surprised me by saying it will be in tomorrow, not late May :D :D
Has any one put in a front sun roof? Does any one know if it can/not be done structurally?

There is a post on the boards with pictures of moded Es with front sunroofs.....shows Es at the dealer with the front sunroof. Also there is another post where someone got a price quote to have one added. The posts include various comments from members about the very questions you are posing.

Hope that helps and welcome to the boards! Have fun tomorrow picking up your new E!

They say it cannot be done because of the B Pillar or some other technical term. Goudy Honda in Cali is selling Elements fully painted and with two sunroofs. Check out the pics... http://www.criana.com/crv/nemc/gallery/album11?&page=1 :D

I cannot say for sure, but most official info seems to indicate that the sunroof was placed in the rear because extra reinforcement was needed in the front due to the suicide doors. This is not only a safety concern, but would also influence body rigidity and handling (body sway). I doubt most after market installers would care to somehow add top mounted sway bars... if that's even possible. I'd thoroughly check into this before having it done, going so far as to check with Honda (not the dealer).

Congrats on your E - if you see a G.Green with temp tags, it may be us! I believe my wife wants the cute butterfly plates. Anything but the smiley plate!!

I bought my E from Goudy Honda in sountern Cal. My car do come with the front and back sunroof. It is pretty nice to have one. The brand of the sunroof i think is webasto. Their website is the one that is posted in previous thread. Feel free to ask me question. It is possible to install a front sunroof. But is it safe? I don't know. Hope this helps

There are a couple pictures with the front and back sunroof, and it looks exactly like mine inside the car. So you guys can check it out for now....until I find a digital cam.

I used to install sunroofs, and as far as I know from my training, a properly installed sunroof is stronger than the existing vehical roof . Hope this helps.

hmm...I don't know the exact price for installing the front and back sunroof because they were pre-installed when I bought my car. But on the invoice, it said 2500 bux for the front and 2500 bux for the back. I think they replaced the back one with a powered sunroof, because I believe the original back sunroof is not powered. So for 5000 bux...I got a powered front and back sunroof. It is a little bit expensive...but the front sunroof is what made my E so special.

Has anyone done this with an EX. The pictures I've seen look like a DX.

I 've been looking at the interior of my EX....

Where would it go? did they have to remove the maplights and Storage bin?

If i could come up with a way to have one installed with out removing them i would do it in a heart beat myself...(well a heartbeat and a spare paycheck)
