I just got back from Colorado. Here are some photos from the trip. These are shot with Nikon D70s with a variety of filters. Most of it shot with a Nikkor 28-200mm lense (if anyone cares).

Is that the Royal Gorge bridge? I white-watered that some years ago.

At least one of these NEEDS to be the EOTM for Sept. lol.

They're great!

What filters did you use? You have good foreground/background balance, suggesting you used a polarizing filter, and maybe also a neutral density gradient filter. I just moved up to a dSLR (Pentax *istDS), so now have the option of using filters myself. Though for the moment I'm looking more at digital processing to deal with contrasts and shadows.

Royal Gorge, Pikes Peak HW, Crystal lake....very very very nice...makes me proud to think I can see these places any given day!

Makes me homesick....don't exactly see snow-capped mountains in CT. However, I'll soon be able to send fall pics back to my family and friends and make up for it.

Beautiful shots!

Neat pics. I especially like the last pic in the second post with the low clouds and "S" curve dirt road. That looks like a very inviting place for an E. I wanna go there.

I may be wrong but considering you were at Royal Gorge, I'd bet that road might be Phantom Canyon (Canon City to Cripple Creek).

Didn't expect so many responses over night. Thanks.

For those of you wondering where the pictures were taken.
0001-Trail Ridge Road, Rocky Mountain National Park.
0002-"Oh My God" road, between Idaho Springs and Central City.
0003-Mt. Evans

0013-Royal Gorge, what a tourist trap.
0014-Pikes Peak. I still think Mt. Evans has better scenery and less crowded.

In most cases, polarizer. A few of them with Warming filters.

I shot everything in manual mode, and I was mannually adjusting the white balance. I like my photos to have a yellow/redish glow, it makes the color seem very vibrant.
