Hi Joe,
Welcome. Boca here, other side of the county. I have relatives in West Palm and get up that way from time to time.

Howdy. I work in Boca Raton, near the city library.

Cool, is that out east Boca? I live west of 441. That must be some commute from WPB to Boca everyday.

Yep, I west east of you and a few blocks west of Miznor Park. The money is good, so that makes the drive worth while. Additionally, I am used to the communtute because I got two degrees from FAU.

Any degree is better than no degree is this day & age. They keep inviting to come back for a PhD; however, I do not have the energy, finances, or the desire to do so.

The only potential downfall with my communte is the afternoon traffic. Between the Glades nightmare and the Gateway Blvd/1-95 bottleneck, the communte is smooth.

I guess you take the TP, I do 95.

I want to go back for a Masters but dont have the time either, just bought a house and getting married soon. It depends on the industry you are in, at my company a Masters wont do anything for me. But good to have in the long run. Will the PHd do anything for you? raise/promotion?

I take the construction ridden I-95, unless the road is closed via an accident.

I have a BSW and a MSW and am pursuingh my license to be a LCSW. A PhD would allow me teach, if I were interested in doing so. It would not create any new doors with my current agency. I am a Program Supervisor for a child welfare agency and facilitate individual and group therapy with children.

Hi Joe,
I alomost wnet into that field, I have just a few more credits to get a BA in general Psy. There were a lot of SW's in my classes. I used to date a girl that was a SW. Too many hours and little $ for me at the time.

I have a AA in LA and a BA in English. I am the Marketing Manager for an export company.

The $$$ in most of the affiliated fields can be low, but the agencies do not advertise for the good jobs. They tend to advertise most decent paying jobs via word of mouth. This field is about who you know and being in the right place at the right time! My part-time gig pays well for only working 6 hours a week. Your field is more profitable and more competative.

Hi Joe,
Good to hear that you found your niche. My field is very competative. I do enjoy it and am a bit insulated as I have been with the same company for 5 years. It has also given us an advantage as real estate prices have climbed into oblivion. It is difficult to get started these days.
