also I have been told no to use armor all on the panels, so what would you use ??
thanks,

409 made the floor slippery? that's weird. NEVER heard of 409 making anything slippery. maybe try rinsing?
so far we've only used plain water on the floor.
I bought 303 for my Sea Doo, and it works great on the panels. no Armorall slip & shine, but they look better, clean.
but it's only 5 weeks old. I would take advice from those with older E's.

I have found that just about anything will make the floor slippery, soap and water made it the least slippery however.
As far as the panels...searching would be the best option. A lot of people recommend alot of different products, but 303 seems to be the favorite...although I never used it myself.

I tried some of these things my wife bought for the dishes. They are called Dawn Wash n Toss. One side has a slightly abrasive side and the other just regular cloth. The soap is inside the wipe. Just get a small bucket of warm to hot water and scrub away. Use a towel to wipe the suds/water away. Not sure how well it would do on a real dirty floor but worked great for touch ups.
Check it out here:

I use a rag and the saopy water that I used to wash my E with just to get the dirt and stuff off the floor

I love 409, I use it every two weeks but it's just plain old 409. Then again I put mats over the floor so there you go. How about some simple green? I think the nature of the floor is slippery when wet no matter what. You could try plain ammonia and water, or just spring for some mats. :-D

409 at full strength is too strong to use on the floor. That slipperyness you felt for a while was likely the 409 breaking down the rubber a bit.
I use a waterless car wash product, Poorboys Spray and Wipe, to wash the inside of the Element. It leaves no residue behind at all and isn't strong enough to break down the rubber or plastics.

But we don't know which 409 was being used and we don't know how long it sat on the surface before it was wiped off. I don't think all 409' versions are safe on plastics and rubber. And while it might be safe if wiped on then off immediately, it may soften the plastic a bit if it sits on the surface too long.
There is always the chance that the slipperyness was just caused by not completely wiping the cleaner away. That especially true if that slipperyness subsided some days after the cleaning. I have never tried 409 in my Element. So I am not an expert with how well/if it works.
But I've been detailing for long enough to know that it's always best to err on the side of using the most mild chemical in your arsenal first. Then if, and only if the cleaner didn't do the job, try something stronger.

good point about 409 dissolving the flooring.
I've never had it make anything slippery before BUT I have used it to remove latex paint.
usually accidentally, as in I sprayed it on a kitchen wall to dissolve grease and wahtnot, and wound up wiping the paint right off.
I didn't even think about that aspect of 409. otherwise, 409 is great stuff! just not great E stuff.
