They use elements in all the ad's but apparently it isnt compatible with the Element?
Weird.
I really want an ipod interface like this where I can control the ipod from the head unit/steering wheel (obviously with steering wheel mod) and have the head unit display all the ipod info. So far the only thing I see that works for the E is some big money Alpine combos.

That is pretty damn funny about the ad.
I have heard that there are some others out there, like Pioneer and Alpine, and maybe Eclipse, but it ain;t gonna be in the bargain bin price points. THink at least $400 retail. It ain;t worth it. Just use the aux input. Make some good playlists and off you go.

I have a question on this little doohikey... Forgetting about the fact that it isn't available for the Element for a minute. Since it is shown in an Element, why would they be running the cable UNDER the MP3 jack and past the aux plug for power? Instead of $190.00 I would rather spend $6.00 on a Belkin off eBay like I did. :)
I also like how the iPod seems to "float" in thin air. lol Yup, stpuid marketing and ad agency.

I'd really like to have the facotry head unit both display and control the ipod, and have the ipod tucked away somewhere out of sight, but I really dont think it is going to happen unless I throw down major money on an aftermarket head unit and interface... which will then make me throw down an equal amount of money on a component system/stealthbox/amps...
bah. Customizing the element is quickly having a massive snowball effect.
Right now I am just saving for my first major mods:
- black leather heated seats
- a real brushed aluminum trim kit.
- NBP painted dash
- Full murdock floormats front to back, as soon as the fronts are available.
After that, it will be a toss up between aftermarket sound system, custom center console/armrest, or wheels/tires...

Ahh, I didnt realize anyone here had these already.
A dealer here offers them as an option and then farms it out to a custom shop, which they actually gave me the name off. The custom shop also adds heating systems to the seats and switches, which would be a huge plus in the MN winters. If I have my say, I'll get some more lower back support and wrap the top of the storage armrest with padding and leather as well.
Other possible black leather aspirations may include the plastic door panels and the black plastic removable panels in the back that function as arm rests. I cant imagine they would be expensive or hard to wrap in leather.

I have bandied the idea about getting the guys who did my leather, also through the dealer (warrantied, natch), to do the door inserts and such, maybe later.
I am having a 2x10" sub box covered in black vinyl, as well as the spare tire well where my big black Mac amps are going, the black leather seems to be a theme in my car. I have a Momo Race Air Leather shifter knob and a Momo Performance shift boot also in black leather. I may end up getting a Momo steering wheel in the future, maybe, I don't really like the Pilot wheel, and I happen to like the E wheel, just wish it was a bit thicker as I am a spirited driver. Maybe I can get an S2000 wheel stuck in there....
