After some researching on EOC and TireRack.com, I decide the Yokohama Geolanders in 235/70/16 are for me.
I go to my local TiresPlus dealer who can get them. I tell him I wanted to
upsize to the 235's and he all but refused. He said they would not fit in the wheel well. I explained that I had some some searching and no one mentioned a fit problem. He said that Honda max's out their tire sizes already and I should stay with the OE size.
He then said the Geolanders were not a great tire and steered me to a Bridgestone Deuler H/L Alenza ($142.00 each).
Has anyone else been refused like this at their local tire guy? Did I miss something in my research? Any help appreciated.

sigh ... did you ask him if he used to sell cars? he's obviously just covering his rear. take your business elsewhere. my 235/70/16 bridgestone at revos rock and they fit just fine thank you.

the geolanders actually leave more room than the revos even do at the same size. the alenza is not even the best bridgestone tire, in fact I believe the geolanders are better.
The 235 fits fine. Order them from tirerack and have them shipped to the shop of your choice (tirerack has a list in your area).
This guy is covering himself from any liability no matter how small it is.

Thanks for the replies. I will do that. I see that TireRack is much cheaper on the Alenza's too ($114 vs $142 at TiresPlus) but I am sticking with the Geolanders. I have an "in" at my local dealership and I think I can get them installed there on the cheap. :-D

The Alenza has been mentioned a couple of times recently, for example, yesterday in a 'jack' thread. Currently the customer surveys for 'highway allseason' tires on Tirerack favor the Alenza over the geolanders. However the Alenza sample size is much smaller, since it is such a new tire.
Which 'highway allseason' Bridgestone is better than the Alenza? The Revo may be a good tire, but it isn't in the same category.

Yea I should have specified. I meant in general, or overall. I basically decided on the AT tires simply because the ones I wanted just happened to also be the highest rated in their class/category.
SO I was referring to the Geos in this fashion. Small sample sizes concern me.
