Thanks Shen -

Now I can see what everyone has been talking about . . .

So does it look like the front fascia is now a 2 part system ? Looks like the lower gray bumper protrusions / fog opening surround may attach over the old style 1 piece. If so, I wonder if that piece can be attached to a '03-'05 . . . :?

that's how mine used to be painted. i believe the front bumper cover is still one piece, just the top part is painted.

Gwag..... I had that feeling of when you are about to vomit and it comes up your throat into the back of your mouth....I hope the Kiwi looks better in person...

They probably should of ran a piece of molding down the center of the doors to break up the uglyness of the Kiwi.....

thanks for posting. I was holding my breath the whole weekend for the brochure pics.
I guess the green will have to be seen up close. I was picturing old Mopar muscle car or Lambo chartreuse

i think the new green is alright, although abit too much fully painted. it would be a nice contrast with regular grey panels, or maybe black ones too. i guess i've always liked the lighter, more contrasting colors on the element (RR, CK, SSM, SMM, GG) just a thought! But then again Magnesium Metallic is thee Hottest color of all, even if i don't have it!

Did the Nighthawk Black have the gray trim or black trim edges? It looks like some models still come with either or. The red looks to come with gray whereas the green appears to have black?

I thought that paint/trim scheme looked a little familiar :)

That seems different from Honda's normal approach; normally if it looks "two tone" it is because the 2 different colored parts screw together . . .

Do you think the front bumper cover could be something like the rear spoiler where you have to color match and paint the upper portion for each application ? I can't imagine Honda stocking 7 or 8 different front bumper covers in different colors

I wonder if the insurance companies will differentiate between P's and non-P's; repair costs seem like they will be higher.

Keep in mind, a lot of people feel the same way about SOP.

OK.. this is what it should look like ! Then the Kiwi is not that bad.....But the all paint one is too much...Why wreck a good thing and paint it ! (a 30 second job..Photoshopped over SOP ! That is why the bottom door is still orange..But with Gray panels it looks good !

To be honest I am liking the Kiwi Green. I would like the red more, but it just seems to dark of a red for my liking.

Anyone know when dealers will probably be getting in the first models? At least the first models that can be take on a test drive?

If it's the same Ralleye Red they introduced in 2005, it's very bright in person. We're talkin' fire-enging red, all the way!

I'll take a Kiwi Green with black panels.

Hmm, maybe I will have to go to a dealer and checkout one in Rallye Red. I always thought it was a dark red?

So what's the deal, people don't like the new body style and how they painted over the plastic looking fenders?

There is no 'new body style' just new colours, and they appear to be painting the plastic fenders. They don't 'look' plastic, they are plastic.

IMO, painted panels are crap. Mold them in a solid colour, or don't bother, and if you want them the same colour as the rest of the vehicle, then don't bother with the plastic, just slap on the metal ones.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure the P trim front fascia is one solid piece as it always has been. Only with the top portion molded smooth and painted. I doubt honda is going to offer all the model colors in the P trim option. Probably 4 at most would be my guess. Green, Red or Orange, Black, and maybe a Silver.
Hmmmm, but I just had a thought. What if the painted panels aren't fully painted panels at all but the normal old version panels with a painted skin veneer. This could explain why only the largest sections of plastic are painted and not the sections with tighter curves. It would also allow a buyer to choose to upgrade an existing unpainted model to the painted version with the installation of the painted skin veneer. It would make it much, much easier for us older model owners to order and install the possible veneers for ours. Well, atleast for the Nighthawk Black owners if no other older color painted panels are made available. But still cheaper to have the veneers to be colormatched It could make repairing a scratched panel cheaper to replace/repair. Just pop off the veneer and place a new one on. Could this be a possibility?

So with all this talk of colors...

I know I should probably search for this, but what colors are they keeping with the UNpainted panels? Agreed, that Kiwi is fierce lookin with the hallmark E fenders, but all green? That reminds me of that one commercial (I think it was for a cars web site) where the dood is selling a lime green Civic, and that guy in all green is like "My dream car!"

I need to get out more.

So since I plan on getting a 06 (At this point, that is my projected target), are they all going to be that "unique" looking, or is there going to be at least a dark color minus the PP?

Jeremy

I really like the Kiwi! I think it stands out even more than the SOP (my current color), which I'll admit made me sick when I started seeing a similar orange on just about every GM in town.

I really like the kiwi color. Umm... Who was describing it as a bad sinus infection green color? The color really isn't that bad! I'd consider buying it. I agree with Genom, looks good with the black panels. I don't care for the gray panels on any of the E's. No offense guys!

I look forward to seeing the '06 models. A refreshed color palette is needed.

Feel sorry, however, for those in the future who will be deprived of that new car aroma in a GGM. :)

I'm disappointed with the kiwi green. The color of my E is one of my favorite things about it. :|

Hey, I like those brown pannels on that fruity truck. Khaki would have looked sooo nice with brown pannels, IMO of course.

Thanks Shen for pics.
To each his own but I hope they don't sell many Ex-ps. I think they wreck the fundamental image of the Element. I was hoping they would paint them in a contrasting color like dark silver or darker something. Now looks like a copout. At least it will bring some new buyers to the model.

I felt in 2002 they made a mistake in going to grey panels. They blah blah blah go well with SOP and GGM etcetera but the grey IMO screamed plastic . I think Honda realized that is what turned off Gen-Y. Too much plastic look. How can you shine it up? I felt they should have stuck with black. Basic, masculine, stealthy black. It can be shined up with simple protectants. I think the 2005 dark grey(black) is a good answer and I intend to reclad my SOP in it.

The blue cladding is good too. Shown in 2002 prototypes but did not show up until 2005 and I have not personally seen one yet.

I also like the kiwi green. Think they need to stick with unpainted panels though, that's an E thing, sorta like its signature.

LOVE those '06 wheels!

This is why I thought the lower gray piece may be a "stick on" . . . it is different than the '03-'05; the bumper pads stick out further

(Fendray . . . hope you don't mind that I borrowed your E pic for this . . .thanks !)

Huh! Good catch on the nerfs! Another subtle plastics change... sorta like the 2004/2005 change in the side sills, which you can also see in the comparison.

OK, here's my official prediction:
Kiwi will become the next SOP*

*Initially intended only as an eye-catching color in advertisements, scoffed at and much-maligned, it eventually 'caught on' to become very popular.

(Hey, wait aminute, that's the story of the Element itself!)

When I saw the new wheels I thought "17s finally?" --- but it doesn't appear to be so.

Also, anyone know why they are advertising the '06 on teevee and the '05 on the web? Left hand, meet right hand.
