Nope...not a social worker!

Retail manager and internet based business owner....soon to be just an internet business owner (crossing fingers and working hard)

Another techie.

I am a social worker, if fact right now I am using this board to distract myself from some homework. I have to complete a course on ethics to keep my registation. (standard procedure, not cause I was bad) It struck me that there were a lot of techies so I thought I would see if there were and human service types.

What type of business?

Something to help out all the guys out there....Gift Baskets for all occasions with email reminders for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, and etc. We are attempting to raise the bar on quality and assorment in the gift basket business....should be interesting!!!!

I am heading up to Chicago in the morning to meet with my business partner and complete our website....we should be up and running my end of the week....that is why I am saying that I am crossing my fingers.

The nice thing is that without even having our website up we had a $400 order two weeks ago! WooooooooHooooooooo!!!!

My undergraduate was at King's College in London, ON. There is a social work faculty there. I learned much about the dedication, perservance and caring that social workers have to put in. Underpaid and sometimes exposed to the less pleasant side of life, you guys and gals deserve much more credit than you get.

I agree Iskie.....three of my friends are social workers and the stories they tell! Overworked and Under-paid with the biggest hearts :)

Thanx isketerol and SLP

But just to clarify, I don't feel underappreciated or underpaid. I make enough to afford my element, what else do I need? I work primarily with people with developmental disabilities and most of them want me in their lives. I am not the kind of social worker that is sent in, I am invited and that makes a difference.

PS

SLP sites looking good.

isketerol love you new ride.

haha, thanks for accepting me as a social worker....looks like I need to update my resume then! Hope everyone's enjoying their E

Take care,
Chris

ps By "E" I'm assuming that you all know I'm referring to Element, and not the drug...although I'm so dependent on my Element that it could be considered a drug!
