Ok, I've lurked long enough...so here I am. My name's Greg and I usually go by the online name of Bellz. (Metallica reference, long story :D)

I bought my E on Sept 17th at Economy Honda in Chattanooga. I live in the north GA area near the Chickamauga Civil War Park. (http://www.nps.gov/chch/) Here's a pic (http://sceniccityonline.com/forumpics/Element600.jpg) of the E. It's pretty much stock, other than a new set of Pioneer 6" coax's in the front doors installed last weekend (by me..sooo easy) and a Sony mp3/cd player playing through the AUX jack.

I noticed in the other thread that you guys are always looking for a place to meet/greet and hang out. Might I suggest the Cloudland Canyon State Park (http://gastateparks.org/info/cloudland/) near Trenton, GA?

Here's some info about Cloudland to assimilate while you check out the links above: :D
"Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, this is one of the most scenic parks in the state, offering rugged geology and beautiful vistas. The park straddles a deep gorge cut into the mountain by Sitton Gulch Creek, and elevation differs from 800 to 1,980 feet. The most spectacular view into the canyon is found near the picnic area parking lot; however, additional views can be found along the rim trail. Hardy visitors who hike to the bottom of the gorge find two waterfalls cascading over layers of sandstone and shale into pools below. Cottages are located near the canyon edge, while the park's walk-in campsites provide exceptional privacy for tents. Outdoor lovers should not miss this park's spectacular scenery."

Facilities
3,485 Acres
73 Tent, Trailer, RV Campsites ($19-$22)
30 Walk-in Campsites ($10)
11 Backcountry Campsites ($4/person)
16 Cottages ($85-$115)
6 Picnic Shelters ($30)
2 Group Shelters (seat 80-175, $90-$110)
Pioneer Campground ($40)
Group Lodge (sleeps 40, $175)
Gift Shop

I've been going there since I was a wEE kid, and I can tell you, it's a great place for sightseeing, hiking and camping. I may even ride up there this weekend and take some pics.

agreed, a nice element...welcome to the board....another in the southeastern group is always welcome. So, how far south of Chattanooga are you? I am in the Nashville area myself. in case you are interested, you should check out this thread...we are trying to get a confirmed interest to make a few runs on the Dragon next weekend.

I work in Chattanooga, since most of the jobs around here are in Hamilton County. I drive about 30-35 min to work, but the state line is about 15min from my home.

Yeah, I saw that thread about the Dragon last week. Looks like a good trip. I try to go up to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg a couple times a year for a short getaway.

wow, you're actually close to home. I'm from Calhoun. My E came from Economy Honda too, May 6th. Welcome to the club.

I see that the Dragon trip near Gatlinburg was postponed. If anyone wants to make the trip to Chattanooga, I could set up a meeting place and a scenic drive to waste a day.

If anyone thinks they might want to go, post here and we'll see if there's any worthwhile interest.

Welcome,

Cloudland is very nice and the nightlife in Trenton....well its hard to describe. We had made reservations for the Dragon trip and ended up in Bryson City. Saturday turned out nice in the Smokies.

Every great event needs a champion, so keep on trying to put something together.

Hi there Mistercates,

Glad to see some locals on here. I work at a freight line off shallowford rd.

I'd hoped to see more interest in getting together at the Canyon, but since hardly anybody replied, I gave up on the idea...at least until next year. I need to put together a web page with all the photos I've taken around Chattanooga and north Georgia to get their interest up I guess. There's lots of things around here for the "tourists" to see and do.

I'll be doing a rear speaker install today. I'm upgrading them with matching Pioneers, like the fronts. Thats as exciting my new years day is gonna be.:D
