: Tweets in the LX

Well I'm going to put some tweeters in the pillars of my LX. I popped the covers off today and for those of you that have wondered, my 2005 LX was not prewired from the factory to the tweeter pods in the pillars.

This was not a big surprise to me but from reading around it seemed that some people here thought the LX and DX models might have the wiring pre installed. I cant speak for anyone else, but in my case I can tell you there is NOT any pre existing wire to the pillars.

I'll probably end up fishing them down and up through my dash somehow since these will be powered independent of my front door speakers. I'm thinking about possibly amping these tweeters by themselves that way I can control specific gain adjustments just for the pillars. I have quite a bit of equiptment laying around so I haven't quite decided what I will use just yet. I'm still looking for a paticular HU that is no longer in production so my final decision will probably depend on whether I can find one in mint condition or not.

Has anyone else with a LX or DX installed tweeters into their A-pillars?

I believe it has been done before, but am betting many of the pics were lost in the server fiasco.

I do know you will have to make some sort of metal bracket yourself, which should not be hard.

I want to say Genom has done all of this before, but can not say for sure.

Element-J has a DIY on the tweeter brackets. I might do something similar to that. I'm just curious to see if any LX or DX owners had wire to the pillars from the factory or if that is an urban legend.

Just put tweets in the pillars on saturday, actually my installer did. No pre-wired stuff. He cut the inside of the pillars to make the hole a little bigger in diameter from stock and made a mounting bracket to mount the tweets from the inside. he did tear my car apart in the process. but it needed to be dyna'd anyway. It the front screens were left untouched so it still looks stock.
