I got the fog lights at Handaccessories.com and the dealer threw in the install for free :D

P.S. the dealer also threw in the mud guards and % off of the alarm/keyless system.

HandA are sponsors of this site and have great prices.
http://www.handa-accessories.com/ - or there is a link on the "Home" page of this site.

There is also Majestic Honda
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com
I've bought tons of stuff from them for my CRX, great to deal with.

The factory foglights are not too terribly expensive and extremely easy to install. Besides Honda uses Raybrig lenses with their foglights.

Anyone have a online catalog or Honda place where we can check the price of the light kit?

Thanks.

Some friends bought me the foglights for Christmas or birthday, and they got them a tad cheaper than H&A--from like cheapesthondaparts.com or something. Anyway, my mechanic installed them, and did a wonderful job, and he didn't even charge a whole lot for it--around $140 for labor. Of course, he used to work for a Honda dealer, but he had never installed these fog lights and was able to from the instructions that I printed from H&A's website.

Hi,

I have a 2003 Element in HK. In Hong Kong, Elements are very rare. I want to get original fog light kits from the States. Does anyone know any online accessory sites selling fog light kit? i mean those who provide international shipping? H and A Accessories do not accept overseas order. HELP!!!

generally, people here will shop through www.handaacessories.com and they have a good price on the SC foglights. From time to time they go on special and that is when you will get the best deal on them but either way still better than just walking into the dealer and paying full pop.

A couple ebay sellers have 05-06 OEM fog lights for cheap, about $70-90. I'd love to be able to get a kit that cheap, but red flags are going up in my head, the prices just sound too good. I wanted to see if anyone had good/bad experiences with purchases like this.

I emailed 2 of the sellers asking if everything I needed to install the fog lights was included, and if the kits were new. These were the 2 responses I got:

-Thank you for your contact, yes we are a used salvage yard. We have bought some inventory of new oem Honda and Acura parts. The fog light kit is brand new. Opened for packaging only. Thank you.

-Hello It comes everything but no instruction Thank you

What are your thoughts? Should I go for it or should I run away as fast as possible?

sometimes cheap works out just fine.
BUT
More often then not you get what you pay for.

thats my 2 cents

When you ask questions, dont ask yes or no questions like "Is everything there?" The answer will always be YES.

Ask more detailed questions like:

Is this a Honda OEM fog light kit?
What is the Part Number of this fog light kit?
Who makes this kit?
Can you email me pictures of the actual kit that I will be bidding on?

Ask questions that will get a response that will give you real answers.
Except for that last question, all the others will let you know what you
are dealing with. You can get really good deals on EvilBay every once in a
while. That one that responded that they get OEM Honda parts sounds
good. The price is a red flag as you stated.

As with everything else, you need to risk vs reward analysis and make
up your mind on what is best for you and your hard earned $$$$

Keep us posted on what you do!!

Thanks, Aztec you're right the 1st one sounds a lot more reputable then the 2nd one who couldn't even type out a proper English sentence. Normally I wouldn't even trust these at all, but I just won a table leg kit on ebay for $15 and it arrived in perfect condition, so I'm feeling a little more gutsy.

Still feel unsure though, if I wasn't saving up for a new kayak and a new dslr camera I'd be more willing to take a risk.

Speaking of cameras if any of you have dslr preferences I'll take those suggestions too

Check out the Honda Acura OEM Parts Connection store on eBay or search for "2005 2006 HONDA ELEMENT FOG LIGHT KIT NEW OEM". I won a set of these for $49.95 on auction and the shipping was free.

Originally I purchased a knock off brand (Injen) for about $100. The installation was a pain because it wasn't exactly like OEM. One of the lights cracked within a couple of weeks and they never seemed to be bright enough.

I just received these new OEM lights and I couldn't be happier. They are nice and bright and I have the piece of mind knowing that they are genuine Honda parts. I know they have several sets out there on auction right now. They were so good to work with too. The kit was complete with all of the wiring, but I didn't realize that the interior switch wasn't part of the kit. They had it listed separately for $20. When I contacted them that I forgot about the switch, they sent it to me for free and didn't charge for shipping either. You won't be disappointed if you go this route.

Everything in the kit looked like brand new parts to me. As far as the price goes, it was an auction and there wasn't a buy it now price so the price could have been driven way on up with bidding. It seems that they have many of these sets so that might explain why I was able to get it for so cheap. I don't believe anyone else was even bidding against me. Good Luck

Perfect! That's the username I was looking at originally, there must have been an oversupply of 05-06 model fog lights because I'm finding several on ebay for only those years. Thanks so much I was hoping someone had bought parts from there before.

I called the Honda dealership today to can an estimate on how much it would cost just for the labor. 5 hour job and they wanted almost $400!! What a joke, I'll get someone else to do it.

Glad I could help. The installation is really not bad at all. I would say that my handyman skills are average to a little below average and I was able to do everything except the inside wiring. I paid a local custom shop about $60 to finish that piece of it. The mounting of the fog lights and wiring on the outside is pretty simple. HandA provides excellent step by step installation instructions under the FAQ area of this site.

Thanks for the photos flying brick. That box looks like it's had a rough life, lol. I talked to the seller a little more and found out all the kits he was selling only came with gray switches, my rallye red calls for a black interior switch, but I honestly think the gray would be a better choice, the switches are really low in the front and all the black just blends together. PLUS
Black switch from H and A with shipping: $262
Gray switch from Ebay: $61

no contest!

Also thanks army element guy for adding photos on your page with the fog lights lit up, they look awesome and add a nice touch to the front of the car. I'd love to have a grill guard like yours as well but I'm pretty sure Virginia likes to ban the ones that have bars across the headlights.

I ordered my fogs from a guy on eBay and just put them in last week. Was worried until I got them in. They seem to be the real things. Everything installed and wired up correctly. I ordered a black switch form www.hondapartsnow.com with some other items I wanted.

Installed in a couple hours everything went fine. I just drove to San Diego from Denver over the holiday weekend and ran into a bunch of fog in Utah. Absolutley glad I got these fogs. Night driving is so much better. I never turned on my high beams the whole drive out or back.

I am happy to report that the cheap but OEM fogs from ebay that are marked for 05-06 use go into the 04 exactly as they should. the wiring was 100% compatible and they work great. the kit even came with a grey switch.

Bought my set off of ebay from the same seller and installed them this weekend. Everything was in the kit for a factory finish look. It took a little over 4 hours for the install though. Only negative aspect was that it only comes with a gray switch. However, a black one is only $20 at any Honda dealer.

Make that 7.
Just saw these last week on eBay and picked them up for my wife.
Hell of a deal compared to the usual online Honda shops.

Purchased from seller hpcimportsalvage for 59.99 shipped.
They're legit, with all the proper tags and labels.

Seems like honda_partsconnection is no longer in business on ebay. I have a guy at work that wants to sell me his assembly's and hardware pulled from his wife's totaled 03 for $40. That's a great deal, but I still need to find the Harness, Relay, and 07 switch. I found the switch for $20 on ebay, but this is no longer adding up to a good deal.

I bought my kit for $76, including switch from eBay seller hpcimportsalvage a month or two back, so others sell these for similar prices if you look around and are patient. The harness is pretty complicated, so I'd definitely buy the whole package if I was you.

Yeah, Im not worried about the difficulty, I've just been playing around with an idea to add amber LED strips around the lights to tie into the turn signals. Not necessary, but a fun neat thing to do. Then the holidays hit

I have seen the Switch stalk on ebay for $20, but you still need the under-dash harness. Good hunting! Prices might come down after the holidays?
