I own a 2005 Honda Element LX which is the cheaper model and has less features than the EX. I just purchased an ipod and tried to hook it up via radio connection. Needless to say I was totally disappointed with the sound quality. I want to know if it was possible to purchase the CD Player found on the EX model with the aux jack which would allow me to connect my ipod directly to the CD player and install it in my LX. If anyone knows if this is possible or where I can purchase this CD deck and if anyone installs it, I would thankful

Oh, man that is such a bummer. I have an '03 EX and I just got an iPod. I went to radioshack and for five bucks it plays through my stereo via the AUX jack. I hope you find a way because it is the best. I don't even take CD's in the bus with me anymore. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Keep in mind that the AUX jack is not part of the OEM CD player. The AUX jack is sperate and wired to the CD player. From my reading it seems that is what your impression is (my bad if I read that wrong).
You can however buy a number of after market head units that have the AUX jack on the front of the CD player.

So I can get someone to patch the AUX Jack to my current CD Player???

A search under mobile electronics for 'aux*' turns up threads like:

The two options are:
- replace the headunit with an aftermarket one that has an AUX input on the front
- buy an adapter that plugs into the back of the LX headunit.
