: Question regarding accessories/parts
Naujik 11-22-2005, 12:23 AM A few questions to all our fellow Canadian Element owners.
Unfortunately, we haven't had the time to really browse all the info on accessories and parts. So on with the question. What's the average cost of the side-step bars installed? Also, cost of the typical roof rack + snowboard/storage attachments?
Hope someone here has some info on hand.
Thanks!

Dom.five 11-22-2005, 03:19 AM There are so many Posts on those things, so many good Idias, and priceing info.
You need to do a search on each. your Questions will be taken care of nicely.

www.honda.ca has all the installed prices for all accessories.....this will give you an idea of what to spend.

Dom, the reason he is posting it in the Canadian Forum is because none of the US Honda Dealers are allowed to ship into Canada; such as H & A. The Canadian E owners have been looking around for a while to find an inexpensive alternative other than driving across the border as has been suggested.

Hmm, was looking at that when we initially purchased the vehicle. Guess the pricing (Honda/Dealer installed) wouldn't really be much different than what's posted there. That option of adding accessories didn't show up today, during the 'building the element'.
Thanks for the advice though.

Well, honestly though, I didn't spend a lot of time looking into it much. Only browsed a few posts about it, just didn't notice too many posts for Canadian owners though. We just assumed that purchasing ANYTHING outside of the country would cost us big time for shipping parts/accessories like side steps.
Hmm.. We'll probably give the local dealer a call and see how much each part would be installed. I'm sure someone here can tell us whether it's reasonable or not (I hope!) Probably should've done that before posting I guess. :|
Thanks anyways.

MkElement 11-23-2005, 01:59 AM hi Naujik,

if you want the parts only, the side step will cost u about CAN$ 686.56 + taxes.
i bought my side step bar and installed it myself, that only cost me CAN$ 620. including taxes, i got discount from the dealer, so that's why..
And the dealer have it in stock too, so i don't need to wait for the shipping.
Hope that help.

Ah, appreciate it Ah Sing. So ~$620 including taxes is what you got the parts for eh? Sounds pretty good. Happen to know if the sidestep install is pretty much a bolt-on install?

spdrcr5 11-23-2005, 10:36 PM It is a bolt on installation. Here you can check out the Honda install instructions, sorry but they are written in English and not Canadian.
Side-step instructions (http://www.handaaccessories.com/element/elementsidestep.pdf)
H and A Accessories (http://www.handaaccessories.com/elementext.html) has all of the instructions for the Honda parts on their site. Just go to each item and click on the installation instructions.
MkElement 11-23-2005, 11:01 PM it's not that hard to do if you have the proper tools.
and also it's a good idea to have someone to help u hold the step bar when you line up the first couple bolts.
my english is not very good, hope you understand what i'm talking about.

yes, maybe you are right.
but i don't want to spend time driving down to state to do it, spend half day for driving and pay the taxes when you back to the Canada border. And assume you use one tank of gas, brake and tire worn out....
Here i make a phone call to the dealer and got the stuff shipped right to my place, why not. :)
I got a set of stainless steele nerf bars from the States..... look up my thread just slapped on.....................
they are Wildcat Flash brand
cost me a total of $350......that included the bars, shipping, duty and installation!!!!!
