Just another testimonial for these tires. I got them put on just before Thanksgiving, just in time for 4" of snow. The tires handle the snow very well. I also find them to be a huge improvement over the stock Goodyears on dry pavement. They weren't cheap and I had to wait 2 weeks for them to get caught up with delivery but they are certainly worth it!!

If you're looking for a good winter tire that you could leave on year round, don't be afraid of the the Nokians!!

Sounds good. I'm planning on upgrading tires too. What size did you put on?
Thanks

I stuck with the standard size ( 215 70 16).

Do you find rhe ride more noisy, or stiffer ?

Why didn't you bump up to the 225/70/16? Is there a big jump cost?

The WR tires are not any nosier than the Wranglers. They are a bit stiffer so the handling is a touch crisper. It isn't a huge change other than in traction. Been driving in snow and rain the last couple of days and these tires are a significant improvement in traction over the Wranglers.

As for the size, I had a heck of a time getting these tires (backordered at the distributor) so I took what they had in stock which was the 215s.

Thanks for all the info. I'll order mine tomorrow and hope they're not too long in coming. I love driving in the snow. It's like going back to being a teenager again when driving was a challenge, fun and exciting. Snow sure makes you pay attention.

I have been running the Nokian WR's for about a year now, and still think they are amazing.

When I bought mine, there were not available in the stock 215 size, so I went with the 225/70-16 size which adds a neglible increase in diameter and just a tiny bit more beefiness to the look. I THINK the 225 is where they start calling them "SUV" tires instead of "passenger car" tires. That might boost the price a bit?

I do like the look of the 225 size, but I bet you get slightly better fuel economy with a slightly smaller footprint of the 215. Only a gues on my part.
