Hi Guys,
I have already done the research here on the site and did find a few posts about Sirius installation. But none of the posts addressed how to install Sirus behnd the dash using power & aux, leaving free the other power outlet and aux on the front dash.

I have seen people doing something kind of similar with ipod. I think it would work the same way.

How can I plug something behind the dash to power and to aux?

Any suggestions? If possible I would actually like to do if for the ipod and the sirius receiver.

By the way, I bought the sirius starmate replay.

I appreciate your help.

Thanks

I tried using a Peripheral piece to do this but I ended up with a huge hum. I suspect the problem was our installation and not the switcher. The installer didn't know the Element's aux jack is an active one and we may have been feeding 12 volts into the deck's input. Not good! I just disconnected this piece and I haven't torn apart the job again to see if this is the case. Make this another winter project.

Here (http://peripheralelectronics.com/web/signal_path.asp) is the info on the Pheripheral piece. Go to the bottom of the page. You still would need to add a switch on the dash to make this piece toggle back and forth between the two inputs.

I have a decent setup in my E right now, and I was wondering from one audiophile to another, do you enjoy listening to Sirius? I have it hooked up with my Kenwood deck and I am not impressed at all by the sound quality. I keep hearing "at least its better than analog radio", but if you care about midrange at all it definitely is not. I understand the compression used in both formats and that Sirius is pumping more data than analog radio, but I am just not enjoying my experience with them. For sports, it's wonderful, but for actual music I find myself actually switching the analog radio to enjoy a fuller sound.

I have wondered if it has to do with the placement of my antenna, but I have tried all over my E (even on the hood as a test) and I cant seem to make any improvements to the overall quality.

What are your thoughts on it? Is is simply "good enough" to keep, or do you not have the same quality issues I have with it? Thanks =]
