Greetings all,
A new red/black AWD EX Automatic is on the roads near Ithaca. Had to have XM radio so went for the EX. Also got mats, splash guards, and skylight screen. Bought Friday and put 200 miles on Saturday. Was a good test - gusty winds, rain, sleet, snow, but no problems. Was concerned about winds but the E didn't seem any worse than previous minivans or Wrangler.

Interesting process in getting the Element. Replaces a Pontiac Transport. Started out to get a sedan but after lots of test drives decided dogs and toys were better suited to the E.

Wife wanted tangerine, but I wanted black fenders so red is what we got. I wish the tangerine had the contrasting fenders.

I've been reading the rack forum. Have a large investment in Thule carriers so will want to use the Thule feet. But sounds like the Yakima fits better. I'll keep watching the forum.

Welcome aboard, ssiegerts! Seneca Falls native here. You live in the right territory for the RT4WD... I'm jealous, but there's comfort in knowing you'll make use of it, and that you'll have a blast doing it.

welcome to the forums!

did you get a 2006? yeah, I don't think the 2006 is Tangerine anymore (and with painted panels only), anyways, I think it's some new color, like Sunset something

the red looks killer, you'll have to post a picture if you can

Welcome to the EOC. Glad you joined. :)

Beaker, the 2006 color is called Tangerine. It is only available as an EX-P. Sunset Orange Pearl was the orange from 2003-2005 and was discontinued for 2006.

ah, I had it backward, thanks

I really liked the SOP with the panels, that was my favorite, and would have been what I would have bought, if they still offered it

Welcome aboard! I am east of Ithaca, just south of Utica on Rt. 12. Also a fellow Wrangler owner (past) and find that the E is more surefooted than the Wrangler in snow (on-road). The Jeep was made primarily for off road anywho. The wind buffeting is comparable also but the MPG savings REALLY makes me smile: Jeep 14mpg, Element 20mpg. Your results will vary, I have a concrete foot. . .
