CONGRATS and welcome! ;-)
I do have a Q for you tho .... what is that I see in the lower grill area? Some sort of guard maybe? Is Honda now adding actual protection down there? Or is this all just a figment of my imagination?

Welcome! Glad you found a good dealer/sales person to buy from! That definitely sweetens the deal.

yeah, I really wanted the orange with panels, but I wanted a 2006, and I didn't want to wait for inventory to become available (months?), and the outside color scheme wasn't as important as the rest of the features..... wanna trade? :)

Nice to see another Kirkland E! And a nice looking E it is!

Is that a grill cover already installed on the front lower opening? or just a trick optical effect of the angle?

Someone at work just got a new Silver E and it definitely does NOT have the grill protection. I almost forgot how exposed that AC condensor looks without protection. I put my gutter guard grill on when I bought my 03 and it just looks normal to have something down there for me.

Enjoy your ride! Maybe I will see you around town. Seems like a LOT more E's around lately.

Welcome, AAGNW!

Is your E manual or auto? That can make a big difference in mileage. Mine's a 5-speed and I've experienced 23-25 mpg pretty consistently over the 7 months I've owned her. That's with a mix of about 50/50 highway/"city" (if Bonney Lake and Tukwila can be considered cities...lol).

Remember you are running on the break-in oil and winter mix of gas at the pumps. Do NOT be tempted to change out that break-in oil too early.

I have a AT AWD. Freeway or city doesn't matter nearly as much as short hops with cold engine versus driving mostly warmed up. I was getting 22-24mpg when my commute was 25 miles each way up to North Bend, even with alternating bumper to bumper and 75mph. Now I gentle it along just doing a 4 mile commute from Kirkland to Redmond and I get 19-20, occasionally even lower. BUT if I go for a longer trip, my mileage goes back up to 22-24mpg.

The Element runs REALLY rich when its cold and seems to stay running rich until its VERY warmed up.

I've got an auto with about 8600 miles on, and am getting btw 18-24 mpg, usually around 21-ish. My commute is very short and includes a hill, so my mileage pretty much sucks.

Markus - what the heck are ya doing in Tukwila? That's my stomping grounds!

Stomping!

My office is in Tukwila. Thankfully, I only come in twice a week, working from home on beautiful Lake Tapps the rest of the week.
