Hey Gang,

I used to have an 04 E and we may be getting back into one. Is there still only a single powered socket in the dash? If so, how are you ipod and radar detector users powering both at the same time? In my 04 E, I had a massive 3 into 1 cigarette lighter adapter. Is there a better solution out there now?

Thanks!

Tom

Hard wire your radar dector dont use up an power port....

Depends on what type of stereo you have...your ipod could go to the stereo directly or you could use the aux port.

you can get a 12volt outlet with a piece that splices into a powerline. You can do that under the dash and run your radar detector from it. You can feed the power cord up the side of the dash and along the front edge by the windshield. It can be hidden pretty much till it meets the detector. That's how I have my Sirius antenna for now. Then you can get a right sided dash mount and holder for your ipod so the wires will be very close to the outlets. I use and sell the ProClip mounts and holders, but other mounts are there for the E from ProFit, Bracketron and Kuda. Here's pics showing you how I mounted my Karma:

Don't pay attention to the quality of the holder itself. It was a prototype. Feel free to check out ProClip's site (www.proclipusa.com). I can save you 15% on all their products.

pics of ipod holders. They have ones that act as a cradle that you can connect your current car charger to or ones that have the car charger included.
