Hey guys as you might now i already have mudtires on my E. But they are just not enought ( Firestone destination M/T). Would a 15x8 inch rim clear the caliper and rotors? Im looking to lift the E and add real mudtires. Dont say it cant be done because there is a possibility for everything If i have to cut and alter and reseal the wheelwells i will lemme know your thoughts. I know the offset on the wheels would be around 4-5 inches . Meaning they would stick out on each side. Might be kinda cool. Also check out my custom swing away tire mod im working on give me your input in the extreior mods section. Lemme know your thoughts thats why i posted thank ya'll!!!

Why are you starting with the rim size rather than the tire size?
What are real mudtires? Those Firestone M/Ts look pretty real to me, regardless of size.
Given clearances with respect to the strut tower and fender well, a 235/75/15 tire seems your best option, however it isn't much different from a 235/70/16. For your Firestone tires in this size the rim width range is 6-7", so they won't work on your proposed 8" rims. 30x9.5R15 and 31x10.5R15 tires will fit 8" rims, but they are 30 and 31" in diameter. I can't imagine those fitting.
Have you described some of your drives in which the current tires have be inadequate?

ummmmm ok as far as discription for the mud tires i use. I am offroad about 75 percent off the time! I go backwoods or rather back swamp with my E and enjoy doing so. I also proudly will admit that my E will be the first on this site do do things jeeps do offroad ( no not rock climbing) but youll see when i send in the pictures. Axles shocks and so on will all be changed i know they wouldnt work stock but those wranglers arent stock either. Man im getting kinda upset here Lots of anal people doubting possibilities.
Umm Think outside of the box!!!!! ( that'll be the new E slogan, original but to the point!)
Cheers and thanks to all the supporters!!!!

Steve-o definately is on to something. I like the way his E looks. Just as an SUV should look and not a grocery hauler. I plan to go his route on the tire n rim set-up because it looks so darn good.
