: New rescues, so cute I had to share
kalinka 02-04-2006, 08:12 PM Look at these two little guys that we just pulled in!!! They are just adorable little fur balls complete with puppy breath!!!! I never get babies in. I bet they will go really fast. Just little furballs. The owner dropped them off at the vet to be euthanized :x because they had flea and hook worm anemia. The vet said no wa, made them sign the pups over, and gave them a blood transfusion and got the parasites off and now they are fine. People can really be horrible.

They are cattle dogs just like the one I have as my avatar.. They are only 8 weeks old, they got lucky and got to a good vet who then got them to us so they will get excellent homes!

tessa 02-04-2006, 08:54 PM Oh, yay - puppy breath! Better than new car smell any day!
I can't beleive some moron was going to put these fine herding dogs down because of a few easily cured parasites. Thank goodness for that vet and for folks like you that will soon have them in tip top shape and ready to embark on the life adventure ahead.
You will let them play on the agility stuff until they each find the perfect home, right? What does Miz Agility Queen think of the young puffballs?
Hope you get some sleep tonight!

Ms Agility queen is why they call female dogs bitch.. as she is the queen of those as well. She is an alpha bitch and has little time for small furry creatures that would like to inch up on her belly looking for dinner..
They do not get to venture far into agility fields until they have all thier shots.. AND babies go really fast, one is already spoken for!! I have a waiting list and lots of applications..
tango 02-05-2006, 12:28 AM And it was the PERSON'S fault they had fleas and hookworms to begin with - UGH! I wish fleas and hookworms on that lousy excuse for a human being! How can people do this? Our newest feline family member was dumped - basically abandoned to die at 4 weeks with a badly broken tail - she did not know how to eat solid food or drink water when we got her and she weighed only 10 ozs - with the fleas. She was (and is) a fighter tho and now at 5 mos (and with 3/4 of her tail amputated) Willow is thriving - weighs over 7lbs (this is gonna be a MONSTER cat) and has never looked back.
I always think that these unwanted fur-kids who get a reprieve from death are destined for a special purpose - even if that's just to love someone who really needs them. These guys will now go to the best of homes and be loved (and love) for a lifetime. As it should ALWAYS be! I wish it could be so that EVERY dog and cat could be born with the assurance that they would be loved, cared for and have a home forever.

I think anyone who could be cruel to an animal could be cruel to another person too. I don't like that kind of person. :x
BoxyBluChik 02-05-2006, 09:13 AM Awwww, I have never seen a puppy before. They are always grown!
Kalina, I didn't know you did rescue! We help Cardi/Pem rescue when we can...thankfully, even though we live in puppymill central we don't have to help too often.
Do you get alot of rescues in your breed? What's the abreviation of australian cattle dog so I will know it?!

hiker chick 02-05-2006, 05:30 PM Adorable pups! Great work, Kalinka - thanks for all you do for needy dogs.
:)
kalinka 02-05-2006, 05:33 PM I always consider our rescues to be lucky dogs living large. They have very little memory for the most part. If life is good at the moment they are happy. Cattle dogs are rarely miserable, they love the one they are with and adapt fast.
When I grow up I want to be as adaptable and positive as my dog.

They are very cute. God bless you for all the work you do for them.
