: Stainless screen
Wolfi320 05-28-2003, 01:58 PM I just installed a stainless screen from (www.cloud-rider.ca) in my "E".
If you go into their web site you will find anything but Honda as a link
to click on, but they do have these screens for the "E". This screen
closes off the top and bottom portion of front grill and looks quite nice.
Air flow is not hampered.
Also exchanged the H 4 headligh bulbs from 55/60 to 80/100 watt.
What a difference they make at night.
Take care
Wolfgang

boneheadz 05-28-2003, 10:22 PM Ya its canadian but the company's mission is a little strange.

Can you buy just the lower portion? Anyone have any pictures of the black?
Thanks
boneheadz 05-28-2003, 10:30 PM Also I wonder if the could make inserts out the same stuff for the fog light holes?
mborkow 05-29-2003, 10:33 AM here is the email which i got back from these guys this morning:

GONMNTL 05-29-2003, 02:01 PM I have been in contact with them, Lund has it listed as part # 877223 however the distributer they gave me to call for a price doesn't exist...... so I called back and am working on getting a price out of Canada. The company has been getting A LOT of e-mails about this item and they are rather amazed! (good job) They are working on getting internet sales set up as we speak! :)
CapnMack 05-29-2003, 08:20 PM I got the same answer but I left work late enough that someone from a Vancouver, British Columbia (that's close to me?????) distributor of these contacted me and said the price of these were $C90.50 or something close to that (which is about $66 US)
Capn
PS: I'll edit this tomorrow with the exact name and address and phone of those people. Looks like a very tight product. Their website (both of them) need a little work, tho. You can find the Element screen under the "New Products" links.
gstyper 05-29-2003, 08:52 PM Couldn't we save money by setting up a group buy. Maybe get at least 5 people together and get a discount?
GONMNTL 05-29-2003, 08:58 PM same price I was quoted! I have the phone #'s and contact persons name at work! I was told there was a 2-3 week wait on delivery, however I think this is the best looking one yet!

Here is the link to a distributor in the Vancouver Area, Canada. No prices though

They have a front plate option and an opening for block heaters. Not sure if it comes without the cut out for the block heater?

mborkow 05-30-2003, 02:11 PM i think that the price i was quoted for both the lower and the upper grill (though i may be wrong about that)

Do you know if they have the lower grill screen with the front license plate holder (unfortunately in Maryland we are required to have front license plates @#$%^&!)

This seems to be priced a little on the high side  . I swear I was quoted cheaper from a different supplier. I would email Cloud Rider directly and ask for a list of distributors and phone/email around for a quot!
Actually it depends on how you read the prices. Mad Ram Truck Acc. is a Canadian company and are they saying it is
$112.79 CAD with shipping included to a US address OR are they saying the price is
$112.79 USD and shipping is included to your US address :? :?: :?
Purtill 06-02-2003, 01:17 PM I installed the cloud rider grill on my E -SOP and its been great . I paid $99 CDN for it in Regina Sask Canada. Ed
isketerol 06-02-2003, 01:25 PM The Canadian prices are different from the US. The Stainless Steel model was just under $155 by a few cents. That price included shipping.
The guys at Mad Ram are great. Super friendly and very helpful. Cloud Rider said that they also distribute through "Action Van and Truck World". There are stores in many locations across Canada.
I am looking forward to getting my grills. The Stainless Stell will look great on my SMM.
mborkow 06-02-2003, 01:27 PM those prices i was given include shipping and handling (to the us) as well as the upper and lower grill. so i think that it is actually pretty reasonable
isketerol 06-02-2003, 01:45 PM I thought so. I ordered mine yesterday. The Mad Ram guys were on top of their e-mail over the weekend. :D
mborkow 06-02-2003, 01:57 PM they certainly were! i got responses back from them both sat. and sun.
Newfnut 06-04-2003, 01:49 AM The cloud rider seems to be a good price for a quality product. I stopped by and looked at a Pick-up truck version that was in stock before ordering mine.
Can't wait for it to arrive!
mborkow 06-06-2003, 08:29 AM i just ordered my cloud rider grills from mad ram truck. they made it easy by sending me a paypal request after i contacted them via email. i will post the results and pics of the grill once i get them.
zozohead 06-06-2003, 12:01 PM This is the prices they sent me.

Wolfgang, Those look great...its nice to see alot of new products for the Element......its one of the reasons we are considering purchasing!
You mentioned you increased the bulb output.........did you buy the heavy duty H4 plug ends as well? We've had some problems in past with the cheaper H4 connectors overheating from the additional current. (At first they seem great but eventually they may actually overheat, short out or reduce current flow resulting in no lights at all or reduced output..... Many big retailers carry the heavy duty ones. Just a precaution...especially to make sure Honda doesnt try to void your warranty
E-Devil 06-14-2003, 03:21 PM I just got an email one week after I ordered from Madram saying they were refunding my money because prices shipping has gone up.
Not thrilled on two fronts. First they took the money before shipping and secondly they assured me the price was accurate through email correspondance before I placed the order. Still trying to decide whether to pay the additional amount, but at least they did refund all my money.
Here is the reply from Madram:
Unfortunately there was an unexpected increase in brokerage/shipping fees which was out of our control.
Since this has happened there has been an increase reflected on to the Cloud-Rider product line. We are refunding your money to give you an opportunity to decide if you would like to re-order with the new adjusted price.
The increase was an extra of $41.85 US/ $55.79 CDN
If you choose not to re-order we understand and we thank you for taking the time to order through Mad Ram Truck Accessories.
We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused you.[/quote]
Slowhand 06-14-2003, 04:25 PM Yeah, I had the same thing happen. I had used Paypal so the refund cost me $5. I wish they had honored the price they agreed to when I paid them. Can't say I am very pleased. At the least they could have contacted me prior to issuing the refund. Then the additional cost would have not been the cost + my paypal loss.
Newfnut 06-14-2003, 06:44 PM Oops, see response below

www.customtruckproducts.com and I'm sure Stacey will honour whatever price she quotes you. I've been very happy with their customer service....
Cheers,
HIGHLANDER 06-14-2003, 07:18 PM To those who purchased a Cloud-Rider Screen Front,
We pride ourselves on quality customer service. This is why we refunded your money as soon as we got word from our broker. If you incurred an extra Paypal fee we are more than willing to refund that to you. If you would still like to keep your order and not incur any more fees then please deny the paypal request for refund we can send you a paypal form to pay the balance. All orders are still placed with the manufacturer until Monday.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience this has caused as this has not been a pleasant experience for us as well as our reputation has suffered.

Aether 06-14-2003, 07:29 PM I ordered the custom Powder Black Grill with license plate provision and without heater block hole direct from Cloudrider. Cost was $123.14 + $26.25 shipping (Canadian). After exchange rate conversion it came to just about $110 (US).
They explained that the powder black grills are sent out to have the powder black treatment applied, so they take about 10 days and that's why they're a bit more. So presumably the stainless steel ones would probably run you under $100 direct from them.
They don't have online ordering set up, but you can get a quote by email and then order by phone. They were real nice folks to deal with.

Jealous.....
jayharley 06-18-2003, 04:56 AM Does anyone know how much these stainless steel grill guards from Cloud Rider affect cooling? Some of the others say the car runs 15% warmer with the guards in place. This sounds like quite a difference in cooling.
Wolfi320 06-18-2003, 05:51 AM Mounting the stainless steel screen was a 10 Minute job with clips and
screws.
However, the packaging list and the actual package (screws & clips) were
not the same. My dealer who is only 5 min. drive from my place simply
opened another package and we took the missing pieces to make it fit.
I just sent "cloud rider" an eMail to let them know to better check their
packaging before sending more of them off with pieces missing.
They make a good product but it should be complete when shipped.

Take care
