: Video: Top Gear trashes a Toyota Hilux
csimpkins 02-13-2006, 10:25 AM If you've got a spare 15 minutes, check out this incredible (and funny) video of the guys from Top Gear completely TRASHING a Toyota Hilux.
The amazing thing is that the truck continues to run with nothing more than a couple basic tools used for repairs after each test.

csimpkins 02-13-2006, 10:29 AM Oh, and while you're at it... Top Gear also did a review of the Element. If you haven't seen it, you can watch the video here:

Beaker 02-13-2006, 10:35 AM nice video!
inside is "covered with hose-down rubber"
Genom 02-13-2006, 10:48 AM Yeah, the "Hose down rubber" part irked me as well. Meh...forget that video anyway, you want to see the Ariel Atom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QfZX2Ge2co) video from Top Gear.
Beaker 02-13-2006, 10:57 AM wow, that Toyota, I can't believe what they did to it
that is definately a must-see video (maybe why TM (http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=TM) is up today, when all other stocks are down?) :)
EDIT: wow, that Atom is awesome, I must have one (as soon as I win the lottery). And it's only about $50,000. Not bad for being just about the fastest street legal car you can buy! And the best part is that it has a Honda motor :)
kilgoja 02-13-2006, 12:11 PM wow...that video makes me miss my toyota truck so much.....that truck is indestructable
that ariel atom car is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
chimphappyhour 02-13-2006, 12:21 PM Yeah, the "Hose down rubber" part irked me as well. Meh...forget that video anyway, you want to see the Ariel Atom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QfZX2Ge2co) video from Top Gear.

How the hell did I miss that?
Critical_level2 02-13-2006, 08:43 PM No wonder they say toyotas last forever. I was very surprised that truck survived after they put it on the building then leveled the building.

Tried this video earlier, got an error. I thought maybe everybody and his brother was trying to watch it, so I tried again just now. Same error. Anybody else having that problem?
Beaker 02-13-2006, 09:23 PM wow, you can buy an Atom for as cheap as $33,300 ($80,700 with every top option and extra)

Empire 02-13-2006, 09:33 PM "heater controls shaped like a startrooper's helmet"
I knew that others would "get it" also.
Very cool. I try to watch the show whenever I catch it.
I never knew they did an Element segment.
Great find!
csimpkins 02-13-2006, 09:54 PM If the Toyota video is still giving you problems, try watching it using this link instead:

Beaker 02-13-2006, 10:13 PM also directly from Top Gear's website

rhythm_ace 02-13-2006, 10:22 PM Thanks...the video worked but the audio started falling apart about halfway through and was unintelligible by the end. Still, man...when they dropped it "with" the bldg!
3_3rdHonda 02-14-2006, 01:31 PM wow...that video makes me miss my toyota truck so much...
Me, too, but I wont watch that video. My father had an ancient Hilux that ran and ran...VERY dependable and economical. I was scouring salvage yards to keep it going.
