Here's my Element at Summit Point Race Way, a sports car road race track park in WV. I volunteer with a Search and rescue team, and we train their on occasion in the winter when their is no racing. The track photos are on a 20 degree banked turn on the newly built Shenandoah circuit. Also note that it is below freezing and snowing. AWD, it's a good thing.

The Shenandoah circuit is new, I have never drove their,
but have raced on the main track for over fifteen years.
Any way the rescue team was a guest at the track,
so I really did not go that fast, mostly checking out the
new part. But the banked turn, I went back to and
drove on it again, around 50-60mph. It was easy to
hold on to the bank, but the transition back on to the
flat track was a little squirmy do to the snow.

can anyone drive on it?
Summit Point has their driving classes throughout the year,
and their are also clubs and other groups that have on track
driving classes.
BSR [summit points in house school]:http://www.bsr-inc.com/
and later this spring their should be a lot on the schedule for
the track:http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/
BMW club, BSR and Carguys let any kind of car on track,
the last time I instructed I think they were charging about
$150 a day.

are you using snow tires? When you are driving normally when does the 2 wheel drive kick into 4 wd?

I have the Michelin cross-terrain tires, the next size up.
They have a great deal more traction than the good year
ever did in the wet, and are fantastic in the snow.
The AWD is a smooth transtion from 2WD to 4WD,
and only noticable when you make the front wheels spin.
