I just took delivery of a new 2006 Element and belatedly found that the driver's seat lacks lumbar and thigh support. I found nothing by searching the site (am newbie and might need direction here). Anyone have any ideas on adding some type of aftermarket support system? Tempur-pedic material might work, but I don't know if they make a product that would work for cars. We have a Tempur-pedic bed and love it. I would even entertain the idea of removing the seat entirely and installing one of the racing-type seats. Right now, my bottom and back are crying for help, and I drove the car for only an hour yesterday.

I believe someone figured out a way to fit in the lumbar bag from a junkyard Explorer, you might try a search for that.

ObusForme - make some great seat cushion and lumbar cushions and has a full seat cover option as well. I have the seat and it is AWESOME. Expensive but worth it.

I use a small wedge-shaped pillow from Miles Kimball (I think) that seems to put my back and tush in a better position. It's cheap, but seems to work. Target carries a number of those micro-bead pillows that might help. I wish Honda would "get" that many buyers of the "E" would LOVE a power adjustable (leather!) seat... but I guess that doesn't fit the "image" of an "outdoorsy" car and would jack up the price.
Good luck!

Tempur-Pedic rocks hard. Except in the winter, when it's rock-hard. Even then, it's pretty good.

This is the Tempur-Pedic lumbar support cushion (http://www.brookstone.com/shop/product.asp?product_code=183699) from Brookstone on which I sewed nylon straps to hold it in place on the seat (yet not interfere with the side air bags). Made a huge difference.
I tried to get my butt into a Recaro back in '03, but the company wasn't interested enough in my money to allow me to sit in one at the factory in Michigan, or give me the address of a local shop that had one in stock.
Oh and Goofycat, keep practicing with that Search. This topic has been bandied about quite a bit.
