Just bought a new Pontiac G6 for my wife. We got the base model that doesn't include Keyless entry or cruise control. Would really like to get the Keyless entry for her. I found the OEM receiver and transmitter online for under $80 total. Anyone know if this is a plug and play install or did I just get spoiled by my Element's keyless entry install?
Figured with all of the do-it-yourselfers here it would be a possibility of someone here knowing although probably a long shot. Or if anyone knows anyone on the GM side that might know.

That's why I posted in the "OFF-TOPIC" section. I would gather to guess that not every single person that posts on this site only owns Hondas.
I checked the few Pontiac message boards I could find but didn't find too much info.

Mikey, this might help... or not. lol
From page 2-10 of the 2006 manual:
"If your vehicle does not have the remote vehicle start feature, it may have the remote start ready feature. This feature allows your dealer to add the manufacturer's remote vehicle start feature.
If the keyless transmitter has a plus (+) symbol on the back cover, your vehicle has the remote start ready feature. You can lock and unlock your vehicle from approximately 197 feet (60m) away.
See your dealer if you would like to add the manufacturer's remote vehicle start feature to your vehicle."
I found that on a G6 Forum I just searched for and did a quick search on that site. This means nothing to me, but hopefully means something to you. :)

Thanks for searching. Yea I found that. Our G6 has no Keyless entry at all. I think this is for cars that already have the standard keyless entry already installed.
