Could it be the jack wrench in the passenger side rear cargo tray? I had that sound also when going over bumps, took the wrench out and wrapped in bubble wrap and now no more noise.

HTH!

i figured it out- my noise is from the tweeters rattling in their molded frame- not sure what the dealers gonna do about it- anyone else having this problem?

My dealer tracked my popping noise to a loose nut on one of the braces on my rear driver's side door. Haven't had any problems with it since. Hope this helps.

the dealer didn't hear the noise from the drivers side rear door.

he did find a noise in the rear and put some lube on the hinge.

Have the same type of noise, but only happens when I go over a bump. Was everyone else's noise like this or constant?

I'm having the same problem. Mine is coming trom the right rear corner on the tailgate. I haven't been able to figure it out. My dealer is about an hour away so we haven't had the chance to have them take a look yet.

I'm getting the right rear side noise as well. It's sort of a popping sound that seems to come from the side window. It only happens when I go over a bump.

mine still has the rattle on the driver's side rear door/window. sounds more like a loud creak. only when i hit potholes or there's a change of eleveation in the road, (pulling into the driveway)

I also experienced the knock rattle and completely took apart the rear door. There was no reason for the noise that I could find. I reassembled everything and then applied some white grease to the upper clasp and the noise is completely gone even when going over bumps.

My window noise seems to have stopped with our first really hot day. I remember having a new windshield installed in my old car and it making similar noises for the first few days until it had "set." I wonder if this could be the same thing.

I think there are a couple of different noises being talked about here:
1) Knocking/popping from the driver's side rear door
2) Knocking/popping/rattling from the back (trunk) door
3) Other various dash rattles

The one i'm talking about is #1. Any time my E's frame qot tourqed (e.g. hitting potholes, speedbumps, pulling onto a sloped driveway, etc), I would hear a knocking noise (only one knock) from the left, just behind my head.
Several people have encountered this, and I everytime have taken it into the dealer and the dealer has made an adujstment to a nut on the frame or a hinge. I did this, and now there is no more knocking noise. It's probably just easiest to take it into the dealer and not worry too much about it.
Can't help you one #2 or #3, I think for #2 it involves greasing the right top hinge of the back door, something about the robot arms at the factory not hitting them right...

Mine is exactly how you describe it in #1. I know it's the door because I never had that noise until the door was replaced thanks to my niece. I also have the dash rattle. I was going to just stick a washer in the crack, but so far I can't find one that small to fit. :x

Both my husband and I have E's, and they both have the creaking sound on the passenger side. It seems like it's the seatbelt adjustment, but it's not.

My husband dropped his off at the dealership for 3 days and they did NOTHING. They said they couldn't hear that sound or the one in the dash. I guess living in Houston with our crappy roads, we are the perfect litmus test for suspension and frame problems.

My solution: Turn up the stereo!

My dash or tweeter is creaking on the driver's side, when I go over rough roads, but we are talking city streets here, nothing major. An earlier poster thought possibly the tweeters not seated properly in their speaker housing?? Anyone else encounter this annoying noise? Solutions?
