Same with USA. I feel more sorry a-boot(jk) Canada though. Even though I am from StL I was pulling for Canada. they just do it right, as far as their program is concerned. Sorry though, russia is tough. At least you guys won more than 1 game.

My 3 favorite teams are Czech Republic, Finland, and Russsia...in that order.

Wayne missed the boat not selecting Fisher and Phillips....

It pains me to say this....but the best player on the ice would have been that Tucker lad if he were selected.

Like I said...it's a sad day when a Sens fan says something like that..

Now ...off to Bert's Bar in Barbados....Mecca for Sens fans

agreed - i think the guys expected it to be a cakewalk. brodeur did a great job, but you can only do so much when your team is being outshot 2:1

ladies hockey, on the other hand, the canadians were rediculous. i heard a stat on cbc that 50% of the worlds pro female hockey players are in canada. freaky.

You said it linger - the Canadian Hockey Team is the ladies. I think it all took a dive when they allowed the NHL players to play in the olympics....

I heard that there are 130,000 women hockey players in the world - 65,000 are in Canada, 55,000 in the states....

Who cares, we won 4 medals the day the men's team was eliminated. We have a record medal haul and people/media are hung up about Team Canada bombing out, pretty lame IMHO.

Here's why Canada lost.

1. Pat Quinn is not a good coach for preparing a team for a one game match. He's much better at making adjustments after he loses. He can't make adjustments during a game to help the team win. His style is not suitable for these international tournaments.

2. Canada has the most players that did not play hockey during the lockout. This has even affected their play in the NHL this year. There are many players that are having a bad season because of this lack of play time. The only players that played last year were Thornton and Nash that I can think of.

3. Lack of passion. I've never seen a team Canada play with less passion. This may be due to missing guys that play their ass of and expect everyone else to do so also.

4. A youthful inclusion on this team may do several things to help. Players like Phaneuf, Crosby, Staal and Spezza all played during the lockout and are having outstanding seasons in the NHL. These guys are also very hungry right now. Crosby in particular plays his ass off every night. Say what you want about the guy but put a Canada jersey on his back and he will lead the way in effort. Also, ask Ovechkin and Malkin whom they fear the most when they're on the ice? They will tell you Dion Phaneuf

Hey Mike,
I've always wondered about your name and the Canuck's Logo. Coincidence???

Too bad about Team Canada and IMHO the main reason they lost was a lack of passion and it didn't look like any player (other than Brodeur) had a clue about their role on the team. Standouts were Doan, Redden and I hate to admit it but McCabe. Embarassments were Pronger, Blake, Bertuzzi, Heatley and the entire coaching staff.
