Well, it's summer time here in sunny SoCal. It's been over 100 degrees out for over a week now. I have noticed that the flooring under my feet has begun to warp a little bit. It has lost it's clean OEM fit, and begun to rise up a little bit, from the extreme heat, I guess. Maybe it's time to go ahead and buy the front floor mat...

Anyone else notice this?

I'll be stopping by the dealer on Monday to address the rocking seat issue too...you know, right after I finish scouting a body shop to appraise my door dent from a kind parking spot neighbor...!!!

I have noticed that the floor in my E has always been a bit uneven. By this I mean one area has a bit more "softness" to it than another. However, I don't look at this as a flaw as it really is not noticable at all. Heck, it is a machine, and a relitively inexpensive car, by today's standards. I am pleased it is, overall, as perfect as it is.

YESSSS! I noticed it just the other day on the passenger side. Almost like it wasn't glued down all the way. Let me know what your dealer says.

You should opt for the Element carpet mats. They look like full carpeting, but are easily removable. They lay nice and flat and protect the regular flooring for the beach trips, etc. There's just no way that glossy plastic flooring is going to stay that way without something over it.

my floor has been "bubbling", mainly on the passenger side. i took it into the dealer, they are replacing the floor.

i was wondering about the comments on the 'uneven' floor.

mine seems to have a padding material that either isn't placed under all areas the same or is compressed a lot more in some areas then in others.

for example, where the platic floor comes over to the edge of the vehicle the floor slopes in considerably. and in areas of the floor there are high 'cushy' spots ( sorry, no thesauraus, and no imagination ) and some tighter compressed areas ?

is this what other are experiencing ?

i'm not entirely sure what you're talking about, but i think i know...
in my E, the soft plastic floor slopes down near the front doors. i think that this is intended to keep water away from electronics. There are several places where the floor feels like there is no padding, but those places feel like there is something underneath them that is supposed to be there. the majority of the floor is soft.
the bubbling that i'm talking about is just that. it's like the plastic is warping and pulling away from the underlying floor, forming large air "bubbles".
hope this helps...

Evidently the flooring is pretty sturdy material with a coating that Honda tested extensively. I use rubber floor mats anyway, but it will be interesting to see how the stock floor finish holds up.

Crap. It appears that my flooring is "alive" too, bubbling in the desert sun. but there's so many shapes under the flooring, it's hard to tell which are supposed to be there. loserfalme....your dealer is replacing it under warranty??? Details please.

i sure hope they're replacing it under warranty... i don't think i can afford to fix it myself...
right now they are waiting for a new floor to get in, then i'll be taking my element in for them to swap it out. i'll let you know how it all turns out. probably around the 1st of july or so.
