Hello everyone,

I bought my Element in April of 2005 but just now came across the owner's club. I would like to share some photos of my E with all of you, I call this my "Northwoods Element" as I live in Northeast Minnesota, or the "Northwoods", my next door neighboor is the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Canoe country is on my doorstep! Also, 20 miles away across Lake Superior is Isle Royale National Park. Anyway, here are some pics of my Element from the past year.....I may have a couple of posts since I have more than a few pics I would like to share :) and from what I understand you can only add 3 pics to a post. Anyway, hope you all enjoy!

Travis

Some snow pics, and one with my dad's boat hooked up....his boat is a little heavy for the E, but we only pull it five miles to the marina for use on Lake Superior, no hills along the way. The E does pull my boat just fine, however. I have a 16' Alumacraft with a 25hp motor, this is just the right size for towing with the E. BTW, this car is awesome in the snow!!!!!

Here are the last 3, I really hope I didn't break any rules here by posting multiple threads with pics. These are just 3 more that show the E in unique light situations.....I tried to be a little more creative than what most of the pics show....hope you like! The last pic I tried to get creative by using a slower shutter speed and zooming in while taking the picture....I thought the result was pretty cool.

Love the magnesium metallic -- probably would have gone with that if I'd waited until '05.

Looks like you're enjoying your E!

hehe that last pic is cool, did you use a tripod to keep the camera steady?

Nice car!

Nice part of the country. I have some fond memories of the Greenstone Ridge on Isle Royale. Though, I wouldn't want to be there right now.

Great Car TJsky. I love that color, it looks great nesteled into the woods. I am from SDak, but have never made it up to that part of MN. When to school in MN though...wish I had my E then!
Can't wait to see more pics! Enjoy Northwoods!:D

Nice looking E. Looks great in the woods, especially as clean as it looks. Best of luck with it....

...I really hope I didn't break any rules here by posting multiple threads with pics.
I went ahead and merged all 3 into one thread. Keeps everything easier to find with all your pics in one spot.
They look great and having all the pics together really shows a nice combination of settings.
Keep posting.

Thanks, everyone. Cool to get a relevant Isle Royale post.....although I would LOVE to be out there right now and have the whole island to myself.....plus I love to snowshoe, so.....anyway I always thought it would be great to be out there in the winter, but that might be because I know people who grew up on Isle Royale and that have spent winters out there!

How heavy is you dad's boat? I would have guessed that it would be over the tow limit.

Thanks, Empire. I didn't know there was a way to do that - could you maybe assist a newbie with how to do it, or is it possible? Thanks so much.....this forum is really a cool place! E owners seem to be really a close-knit community......

Hiker chick....thanks for the comment. From your profile I see you have an interest in photography.....if you have time check out my website, which is all about my photography. None of the pics of me E were shot with a tripod, they were all hand-held. I'm sure my dad's boat is over the tow limit, but the E pulls it just fine, as long as you're not going too far. As mentioned, we only pull it about 5 miles to the marina from his house, and its over flat, smooth highway, and that's only a couple of times a year. It pulls it up the ramp just fine, though, when pulling it out of the water! I tow my boat (the 16' Alumacraft) quite often, and the E is much better suited for that lighter load. I used to own a Dodge Ram, and the E actually pulls the boat better than the Ram did.....although my Ram was geared really high, and had a stick, so it was hard to keep it from bogging when pulling the boat. I also used to have a 03 VW Golf diesel, which pulled the boat great, too......I love diesel and I really hope someday the E will be available with a diesel option.....if its possible I think I would love my E even more with a diesel!

We moderators are the only ones that can do the thread merges but if you want to add addtional pictures to the same thread just keep using that Post Reply button. I think you can add up to 7 pics (smiles included) per single post but another reply post with additional pics can be made right afterwards within the same thread. You can add as many pics within a single thread as you want.

Good looking E. I really like your 7th and 11th images. They both put the E into areas or angles you do not see much of.

I also checked out your website and you have some really great stuff there too. You have a good eye with the camera.

Checked out your website -- your photography is fantastic!!

Have you checked out "Nature's Best" magazine? Your work is better than a lot of the excellent photography I've seen there.

I hope you will share a lot more E pics with us.

Thanks jedi and hiker chick! I do on occasion buy Nature's Best magazine, they do have some nice work in there. I'm flattered that you think some of my stuff is worthy of submission there! Photography is my passion, but not my profession. I do make a significant amount of income from it as a side-job, though. Mostly I sell photo cards and prints in a couple of local area gift shops, and I do get a fair amount of orders through my website. Also Grand Portage Lodge and Casino (in my hometown) recently remodeled all of their guest rooms as well as the lobby of the lodge, and my photos were part of the renovation plan. At any rate, thanks a bunch for your kind comments.

Check out this web page. guild.com is a well known web page for art and crafts. They also sell photography.

Beautiful E. I love that magnesium color. It was 1 of the 3 of our favorite colors to pick from, but we went with green because it has a nicer schema interior.
I swear, that last photo you posted was trying pull me in :D
