Does anybody know if the tinted windows on the sides of the Element use a metallic component? Some do and some don't, and I'm curious about the Element.

no, they don't.

the "tint" is just colored glass - not really TINT at all but rather just privacy glass.

Tinted glass rejects UV radiation, heat, glass breakage etc etc etc. . Factory colored glass is just dyed glass.
