Hi Folks: Been thinking of putting an automatic starter in
my E. Anyone do this? If so, is it worth it? One of my buddies has it in his car and when the train we take pulls in the station his car is running and ready to go (its a race to get out of the parking area at the station we get off). Also, it would be nice to warm the car up in the early mornings when I go to work ( I leave the house around 4:30AM)..Anyone have any thoughts......

I'm moving your thread over to the Mobile Electronics forum. You've been abducted!
Lots of us have remote starts installed in our Elements. You will find many threads on the subject. You don't say in your profile whether you have an automatic or not. You do need an automatic transmission. You can't do it on a manual.
Just get a DEI (http://www.directed.com/) piece - Viper, Python, Clifford, Hornet, etc. Directed makes great remote start systems. Do have it professionally installed. It is a pain and not an install for even the seasoned shade tree mechanic.
It should cost you between $300 and $350 to get one installed. That's for the basic model. You can also get an alarm added for maybe $100 more, or versions with two way communication that will beep you if your car is broken into for more still. Check with your local independent dealer (my preference), Best Buy or Circuit City.
Do search the forum. You'll find tons of info on remote starts.
I love mine! :)

Webasto Showroom (http://www.webastoshowroom.com/BlueHeat/index_002.htm)
I've been thinking about looking into this blueheat thingy, but I haven't really done much research... If you go this route, let me know....
