I just got my helms manual today and I noticed that the line level Sub woofer out had the following wiring designations:

Red/Blu - Woofer (+)
Red/Wht - Woofer (-)

The wiring shown on the stickied "Cheap Aux & Sub connectors 4 factory harness-Part I-1of3 " had the Red/Blu wire to be the shielded wire (RCA Sleeve) and the Red/Wht to be the RCA tip which is the opposite from the above designations. The RCA tip usually have the + signal.

The audio wiring post from emass corresponds to the helms manual.

Just thought that I mention this as I saw some post showing that they cannot get the subwoofer to work or low volume from an after market deck.

I've just looked in my 2004 manual and it doesn't indicate polarity for either of these two wires, the red/blue or the red/white. It doesn't say either one is positive or negative. Since neither is shield, it shouldn't make any difference. All we are dealing with here is the potential between them and that won't change if they are reversed. Still, if Honda says one is postive and the other is negative, then that's the way it is. Thanks for the heads up, johninator. I'll make the change when I upgrade the FAQ.

Looking this up, I did notice one thing in the manual that had never caught my eye before. It's something else I'll need to correct in the future on eMass' diagram in the sticky. It's that the shield, the pink/black wire, is only attached at the head unit end. Both eMass and I had been recommending people leave it unhooked when installing an aftermarket deck and still using the factory amp because we assumed the shield was connected at the amp. Since that is not the case, it needs to be hooked up when people solder on RCA connectors. Obviously, this is a rule that can and has been broken, but it's still best to have the subwoofer wire sheilded.

Outpost,

Youre right, the helms manual does not indicate polarity on the black 3 wire plug for the sub. However, I found the polarity looking at the factory amp input wire (next page over) for the sub pin B2 & B10 where they had the polarity designated.
