I'm a superstar!! This is probably the most sexually-questionable picture I ever took. Nice shorts.
Oh, and I'm 28 now.
outpost4 03-21-2006, 11:32 AM This was May, 1956. I'd just turned 3.
My parents were dropping me off at my maternal grandmother's house in southern California. They were getting ready to go to Detroit with my 8 year old sister to pick up the new family Buick station wagon. In those days, you got a better deal if you took possession of a car near the factory. I didn't want them to leave and was running around, having a tantrum, and hid in this corner by my grandmother's front door.
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-1/940070/gnm5-56sm.jpg
Needless to say, my parents left for Detroit without me. The story goes I remained a complete sh!t for about 2 days and then my attitude flipped and I became a normal, happy 3 year old. Everyone surmised I must have decided my parents were never coming back for me and that I might as well make the best of the situation, living with this large woman who would play Fish with me and who could fold the foil liners from her empty packs of Kents into little boats.
:) :) :)

Yeah and here I am with my Mom and Dads first Honda's just before we moved off of the farm. I loved that Sonda. I rode this till the rear tire wore down to the rim. (this is about 1969 and I am 5 years old) 41 now and still a big kid.
A friend at work blew this picture up for me and keep it above the fireplace so, I can prove to my kids that, Yes I do remember what it was like being a kid. :)
Thanks kissya for this Fantastic thread.
Here is another picture of me with my 3 cousins on thier farm. I am the one in the middle with the red hat. (early 70s shot here) My Dad always took Mom and I back to the farm on the weekends. Nice to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. (Yep I'm an only child = spoiled rotten!)

Heh. In college (~1990) I convinced a girl that B/W TVs could only receive old TV shows over the air. A friend of mine in her dorm had a B/W TV and in the middle of the day there was a few hours when they only ran Lucy, Perry Mason, etc. on the few stations that they could get. I'd prove it to her by flipping channels and only show old TV shows. I think it took about 3 weeks for her to figure out I was full of crap. Kept her from bugging my friend to watch Beverly Hills 90210 or whatever show they were all googlie over at that time.
I learned it from my dad who once convinced a coworker in NYC that Oklahoma wasn't really a state, just a fictional place used as the setting for a musical like Grover's Corners.
And Bob - you're right - they're both raised by good mothers.
