I have camped quite a bit over the years and I have had so many SUVs.
I really felt the E was for me this past weekend when I went to Rusk state park with my son. It rained quite a bit while we were there. It was nice to know I could store dry goods in my E and have access to it from the back. The big thing was I could stand under the rear door of the E in the rain and stay dry while I was accessing the goods. I have all of the coolest camping gear but the best piece of gear for camping I had on this trip was my E.
you know people don't always thing about the fact that ,,, if it is raining and you need access to stuff in your truck that if the rear door has a lifting door then you are under cover....
Oh yea!!! for those of you who are wondering,,, My surco Rack is pretty bad to the bone,, as a whopping 40"x 50" in size... No issue with weight or tie-down problems,,,,, On the return I had 3 times as much stuff up top since it was a dry drive home. Even my EZ-up 10x10 canopy fit ,, with room to spare on the length...

Thanks, I did not want the rear to get too cluttered since I have my Apple sticker on the rear..

Grivas,

The more I look at your "E" the more I like your Aries mods. Was going to do side steps then decided not too. But I like the brush guard and the tail light guards. Any problems or concerns with them?

I love it!. You know when you put the vehicle in the right environment it makes total since. I love camping.

The Aries Armor is totally what you expect.
No Issues. I was actually looking at the Manik Guard but upon receiving it I found the smaller cross bars that are directly in front of the headlights are not on that design. From that I looked into the Aries. At first I was reluctant since the aries is not all one piece. I liked the look and I felt it would still protect my vehicle from Deer and brush so I went with it. I installed the rear guards myself and I had a pro do the front.
The Aries is quite a bit less expensive then the Manik Grille. Manik did not have rear guards.
AutoAnything.com--- When I got the total on my order for everything(including rack and lights) I was over a grand. I then asked for free shipping and a discount(10%) they gave both to me...,,,, and no taxes.

It was a blast. I recommend Rusk state park. It is small and beautiful.

What size are your tires? And how are you liking them?

Your E looks great. What kind of MPG do you get?

225-70-16 BFGs they usually have to be custom order since they are not a common size. No rubbing at all. They are as big as you can get.

The tires work great in rain and off-road. The are a bit noisy but I could care less. The BFGs are the best A/Ts They are expensive.

MPG depends. If i do not go into overdrive very much then I think I am getting the expected rate. I drive like a "bat out of hell" so I get crappy MPG. I do not worry about what the exact number is.

I just crank up my iPOD and punch it!

I have a Hunter brushguard that looks to be identical to your Aries. I wonder if they are made by the same company and sold under different names?

Hello,

I am interested in a grille guard and roof rack for my 2006 EX-P. Who makes the ones that you have on yours? Do you have any recommendations and advice?

Surco rack...
Aries Guard
I bought them both off of www. autoanything.com. Great Co.

I like the old school look they have. although the Yakima mega warrior is a great rack it looks too "city folk" for me and the Yakima does not have that safari look I wanted.
