Honestly.. I'd recommend only one dog.. But that is just me. We had actually planned on Saturday right around Lunch time. I'm a freak for Chic-fil-a!

We may even go on Sunday just the fun of it. Let me know..

This super-pet expo; is it ONLY for dogs? I just got a 5 month old Bombay kitten (Binx) that I'm trying to train to walk on a lead. Was thinking of bringing either him or my 8 YO Platinum Burmese (Dexter) who is accustomed to walking on a lead....I'm out in Leesburg so it's a bit of a stone's throw for me. :)

GREAT IDEA for the meet up.

I would prefer Sunday - I am trying to wiggle out of helping with a basic pistol class on Saturday. At the Expo, a friend of mine is trying to set up a service dog demo (Chance is my hearing dog) on Saturday, not sure of the time, AND I am suppose to help with the agility and do a freestyle demo. We will see what happens.

Sunday I may be helping with the agility, hard to say what time as the schedule is at home . . .

You can take cats, but there will be MANY dogs there. I would have a carrier or bag for the cat(s). Just remember that most of the dogs there are family pets and may not be well-trained. I am not knocking family pets, but most families don't have time to really train their dogs.

The pet expo is great for teaching pets to behave in public and exposing pups to new things. Just be careful not to over-do it.

There are lots of cool stuff for sale at the Expo

I have a Belgian Sheepdog. Chance looks like a small, black wolf.

Dexter is soooo domesticated; he isn't afraid of dogs. Apparently; that "fear gene" was bred out of him a long time ago along with the "survival gene" (he's an indoor kitty); and I guess I can always carry him if the aggression gets too great; he's only 13 lbs after all...a mere nibble for a mastiff!! LOL.

I love the looks I get when people see me walking a cat on a leash; talk about double takes!! Trips to petsmart are doubly entertaining with Dexter along!!

I'm not sure what day I'll be out; I hafta work on Sat; from 2 - 11; so I'll either be there early or I'll go on sunday; what time were you wanting to meetup?

I am not knocking family pets, but most families don't have time to really train their dogs.

This is Not True.
Most people don't take the time and make the effort. I know you are trying to be gentle and politically correct or something, but let's face it - if the average* dog owner spent a fraction of the time they spend in front of the TV actually working/playing/interacting with their dog(s) we'd have fabulously trained dogs!
*E-owners not being average, of course

not often politically correct

Um, Tess ... Did the two of you just not say the very same thing??? lolol  Honestly, you are both right. It's the TV, 'my life', 'my children', 'my husband', it's all of the above. :(

Anyway..

Okay,

I have been contacted by those that can make it Saturday and those that can make it Sunday. Soooooo, it looks like I'll be there both days!!!

Lets plan to meet SATURDAY, Apr 1st (NO JOKE  ) at 12 PM (noon) at the Chic-fil-a, have lunch and then head across the parking lot. If you miss us for lunch, you shouldn't have a problem finding US in the parking lot. However, finding anyone inside will be the challenge.. lolol

Okay, SUNDAY, Apr 2nd at 12 PM (noon), unless Church gets in your way, we'll meet in the Parking lot of the Pet Expo. Should be pretty easy to find us again.

How does this sit with everyone? Let me know!!! If we need different times on either day, just let me know! I definately want to get a group shot with our Pets and Es. So plan to be there!!!

I stopped by early; around 11:30 am. Although I didn't bring the kitty :| I think it would have been TOO MUCH for my lil guy; even more so after getting there. I did see two Es in the parking lot an EX-P and a EX hooked to a U-haul trailer; both were SOP. anyone claim them?? The Pet expo was very dog-oriented; although I did find a front-pack carrier for the kitty at a good price. I was really hoping to find more fish/cat/chinchilla stuff tho. I did think the sugar gliders were super cool!!! I did see alot of "Paris Hilton" types; with small dogs and all the accessories to match!! Found that a bit amusing. Hope everyone had fun there!! :-D
