Excerpt....
"Among the channels XM is adding are: A classic rock channel called Big Tracks; a country channel called U.S. Country; a southern gospel station called enLighten and a heavy metal channel.
XM will also drop from the satellite radio service four other channels, making them available online only: a Christian music channel, a soul channel, a Latin jazz one and another with jam bands and progressive rock.
XM will also add seven regional news and talk channels, bringing its new channel total to 176 from 164. In the fall, XM is also launching a channel with talk show host Oprah Winfrey."

outpost4 03-27-2006, 04:41 PM I don't like losing the jambands station. I listen to that one the second most often, after Deep Tracks (channel 40). Thank you very little, XM. :x
FormerraSierra 03-27-2006, 04:42 PM I guess that means The Mars Volta wont be heard on XM anytime soon.
I would miss the Jam Band/ Progressive rock as well. I listen to the Sirius version all the time.
nbpguy 03-27-2006, 06:25 PM YAAHHHH I'm so glad to hear they're bringing back XMLM. It went to online only when they started to offer online listening.
SookiE 03-27-2006, 06:52 PM Now I wish I had gone with XM.

I am bummed about that too. I'm also pissed that their losing NASCAR next year. That was one of the reasons I went with XM. Now its going to Sirius. Decisions, decisions. :D
Berzerker 03-28-2006, 07:04 AM Finally a REAL metal station I like the da Boneyard and Squizz but I need something more agressive like the type of music that scares small children and puppies.
BANG YOUR HEAD!!!!!!
DISCLAIMER (I do not make it a goal in my life to scare small children and puppies)
JPH102900 03-28-2006, 07:37 AM   I'm losing XM in 2 days because my free trial is up! Now I have to wait for the 77 dollar deal to come my way

JPH102900 03-28-2006, 07:50 AM Yeah but doesn't the free trial have to run out first?
lwclancers 03-28-2006, 10:59 AM Yeah but doesn't the free trial have to run out first?I specifically remember one person recently who said they got the CSR to honor it and it would kick in at the end of the trial. It's worth a shot.
3rdHonda 03-28-2006, 11:23 AM or you could call like them and ask for it like so many people have already ;-)
Warning: This didn't work for me. The CSR wouldn't budge. I didn't have the patience to wait for them to call me and make the offer, so I renewed at full price.
*kicking self* Stupid, stupid, stupid!
kissya 03-28-2006, 11:30 AM I got the card in the mail.....after living without XM. The deal was until the end of March...I paid for 77. for the year.:D
JPH102900 03-28-2006, 11:52 AM I think I just might try to call once or twice a week and keep asking about the 77 until someone gives in and lets me have it. Maybe I will threaten to switch to sirius so that I can listen to stern, even though he is a dirtbag and I would never listen to him, I can use his popularity (although I have no idea why he has any) as leverage.
