I just got the call.....my back ordered windshield is in!!!!! And my E will be taken in on Saturday to get the replacement!!!! After almost a month wait this is the best news I have heard in a long time! (how sad is that!!) But, I can't stop smiling! Happy Day!
How long have others had to wait for their windshield?

Why are you guys needing a new windshield for? Is this for the bulitin with the problem with the windshiled cracking? Please let me know if I need one for my E.

My windshield got hit by a rock on my way to Chicago. This has nothing to do with the bulletin.....the service bulletin only covers cracking in either or both lower corners of your windshield caused by a "stress" below the windshield....you can read all about it in the service bulletin forum.
I think one of the reasons that the windshields are on back order is due to the high number needing replacement due to the "stress" break.
Just my 2 cents

Hey P. Fight for them to pay. The stress would make something like a small rock chip become a crack. You shouldn't have to pay for a replacement.
I know in Florida there is free windshield replacement from the insurance companies. Enough insurance claims come in, maybe the insurance companies will have a talk with Honda

I have already spoken to my dealer....a rock "bullet hole" is not covered due to the "foriegn object" involved.
My deductable is only $100....and since the dealer is charging $563 for the part and labor I am not all that upset (anymore). I have never had to replace the windshield in any car.....so this is all new to me :?

Make sure you water test the windshield really well after the replacement.
Test it for at least a month. My civic was never the same after the body shop took the windshield out to fix hail damage. Leaked and they never got it right. I shoulda, coulda, woulda!!!Blah, blah, blah.

Still the insurance companies are paying some $$ for these widshields. Even though most of the time I'd never defend insurance companies, I don't think they should pay either. My point is that the insurance companies may have more sway with Honda than just us owners.
Enjoy your new view.
