The Dalton Highway goes from Fairbanks Alaska 400 miles north to Deadhorse, Alaska.
These two pictures are from the summer of 2004. Enjoy.
Don't you wish your Element had adventures like this?

Windows all intact? Another EOC member had a highly improbable rock impact on his tailgate hatch:

What's on the roof, besides extra gas? A frame for a white water catamaran?

Yes, Dalton Hwy is hundreds of miles of dirt, and very little gas, if that's your thing.
Last time I was up there (many moons ago), as I recall, the trees were gorgeous except where they were clearcut to death, leaving miles and miles of unsightly stumps, which was very depressing to drive through.
C'mon mlb don't tease us!
What's the rest of the story? Where were you going (and coming from?) Did you get close to running out of gas?
Meet any critters?
Yes please MLB, give us the complete story. Oh and welcome to the EOC! :D

Looks like an adventure! The top pic looks like Kansas, minus pavement.
;-)
If I lived there I'd become one with the wash bucket.
One of my dream drives (after moving home to the Pacific Northwest) is to drive up to Alaska.
I'm amazed and gratified to hear of so many E's in Alaska. That's the ultimate compliment on their snowworthiness.

I like seeing photos of Es actually being used and loaded up with real stuff. The others, of pristine Es, get just a tad boring after a while.
