Just like the topic says, are there any online gamers out there?

I happen to be one-- started out on quake1, moved on to quake2/cs, quake3, tribes, sof2, bf1942 and am now on PlanetSide.

Interesting story-- I got my job by playing quake2. The "team" i played with got together at a large chicagoland LAN party (hundreds of geeks bring their computers to a large meeting place, network them together, and play games. all the while eating/drinking/nerding out). One member of my team turned out to be an IT Manager at a company. 2 weeks after the LAN, he asked if I was looking for a job (I was) and setup an online chat interview. By the next week, I was hired. All without a face-to-face interview and without seeing the workplace.

It's been a great 3 years now and I'm with the same company. Gaming got me my job :) I'm also lucky enough to have a job that lets me use the company's T1 afterhours to play on my state-of-the-art gaming/work machine!

So anyways, anyone else out there game?

I game, but only single-player. Half-Life has to be one of my all time favourites. I am drooling with anticipation over Half-Life 2.

Ghost Recon and Command Conquer. Use to paly a lot of Quake lll but have confess not very good :( My brother in law frags me bad...

Counter-Strike right now, and I am anticipating Counter-Strike, Condition-Zero as well. My co-worker just gave me a copy of Unreal Tournament today, so I will play that some tonight...

Yes, I am also anticipating Doom III. ID Games has been responsible for most of my systenm upgrades over the last 10 years. I wonder what I will find I want, I mean have, to buy this time around.

I am addicted (at the moment) to UT2003, but prior to this I was playing Tiger Woods Golf online all the time. I'm telling you, there have been golf games before but this thing rocks, especially when you can meet friends from all around the world while waiting your turn. Graphics and effects are amazing to me.

That being said, I'm mostly a "shooter" fan. I have to take my stress out on something, right?

tmac a UT fan! go figure.... for some good online gamming, check us out at voodoo pc (http://voodoo.ca/community/default.asp)... i'm usually there under the same name, misfit...iske,,, doom should be out "soooon"... yea i know,,, it should'a been out months ago... i've been able to d/l some of the levels and their pretty awesome. as far as system upgrades, lets hope you have at least : a g-force 3 gpu,, P4, 512 of memory and a 20gig HD or larger.....

Doom III will be out sooner, kick more behind and play better I am sure than the oft-promised Duke Dukem 4Ever. How long have we been waiting for that?
