I just ordered a Borla XS muffler and Borla tip for my Element. The local muffler shop is going to cut the pipe right after the Catalytic converter (I want to leave catalytic converter intact, it has sensors connected to the computer). The entire length of new pipe will be 2.5" diameter vs. stock breathing of 1.5". Elements have a muffler AND A RESONATOR underneath. The weight savings alone is 50lbs. This should really help the 2.4 litre engine breath better (and sound better)No rice rocket coffee can mufflers for me. Borla muffler is going right where the stock muffler now sits. I'll once again attempt to post pics (it's a pain-in-the-ass here to post pics)

Borla has a 1,000,000 mile warranty

Hope I'm wrong, but you may find Much Less low end power with your Borla System,as speced. You may also find a drone that you didn't expect too..

Also, your project could void your warranty. If you go ahead with your project you might want to have a Dyno Pull done;many here would be intersted in the results.

Good luck, gobble :D

Planet Honda, Union NJ service mgr quote in response to your warranty question.

"Honda will continue to honor all other Honda parts in Honda cars. Honda will not cover any after market parts. Exhaust addition doesn't automatically void car/engine/tranny warranty. (just the aftermarket parts)"

If I hooked up a turbo charger and blew up my engine, I wouldn't expect Honda to replace an engine blown due to my own negligence.

Installed the Borla Pro XS muffler and tip today. All pipe after catalytic converter was all custom 2.5" pipe.

Mechanic and I both drove car before installing Borla Exhaust.

Mechanic and I both drove car "after" installing Borla Exhaust.

Consensus is slightly less power under 3000 RPM's BUT
there is more "then stock" power in 3-5000 RPM. Since I do roughly 75% highway driving, this is perfect for my type of driving.
This is all at the begining of the break-in period for the new exhaust. It will only improve over time.

huh? The Element has a lower but distinct high performance growl when compared to a tuned road racer Civic.

I replaced my stock Exhaust System with a MagnaFlow Dual Exhaust System. I call it a custom job because of how the pipes had to be routed around the suspension system and I personally selected the style of tips. I originally went with the FlowMaster, but way too much interior noise. The MagnaFlow has a low deep throat sound like on the Porsche and Audi exhaust systems. The MagnaFlow is considered a Performance Muffler. The exact amount of increased Horse Power (10+ ?) is hard to say, but I do noticed a significant difference.

I'll try to attach photos of the installation and finished product. Let me know what you think? :?:
