: Glove box
ELEMENT80 04-19-2006, 12:23 PM I have been trying to figure out how to stuff my ice scraper into the glove box along with all my other junk. Fortunantly winter is practically over and I can just put it in the garage but during the winter I ended up putting my owners manual in the house, I just don’t understand why glove boxes are so small? Or is it just me?
Here is what I put in my glove box, add anything you think I missed. I plan on sending this list to Honda and see if they can make some changes for us!
Repair recipts
Insurance
Registration
Owners Manual
Extra Sunglasses
Small cd case
Kleenex box
Pens/ pencils
Camera
Ice scrapper
Tire pressure gauge
BrownSquirrel 04-19-2006, 12:29 PM It is too small.
Nothing I can do about it except get a Center console/Armrest.

Extra Sunglasses - overhead console
Small cd case - in straps behind passenger seat in the bungees

JPH102900 04-19-2006, 12:55 PM All we have in the glove box is our manual (RTFM) and our aux cord for our ipods. Our pens go in the trays in front of the passenger along with our cells. The extra cds go behind the e-brake. The rest of our random stuff like sunglasses go in the overhead compartment. We have no trouble keeping the E clean and tidy with all its nooks and crannies.
bacchus1310 04-19-2006, 01:06 PM I don't use mine too much. But then I dont usually accumulate that much stuff in my car. I had it broken into once, and from that point on, I dont keep much in it, especially not out in the open. I dont want to give anyone any reason to think that there is anything in my car for them to steal.
pxpaulx 04-19-2006, 01:07 PM must not be too much ice in your parts; mine is 3 feet long and goes in the cargo net! (maybe not 3, but its big)

What does that have to do with a Glove Box?

i was referring to an ice scraper, which element80 was referring to not having room for in the glove box.

I was going to say, Dang you must be some kind of freak of nature :D
BrownSquirrel 04-19-2006, 01:27 PM  LoL, Oh. I didnt read that far into Elementos post.
I get it now.
My though patern was the same as JPH.
PugMom 04-19-2006, 01:35 PM LOL LOL You guys are PRICELESS! I almost wet my pants laughing so hard!
tango 04-19-2006, 01:42 PM Mine only has the tire gauge, iPod/camera/iBook cords in it. I velcro the cords together so they don't get loose and expand to fill the whole space (and get tangled).
Moved the paperwork to the armrest after discovering the nifty paper-holders in the lid. Keep individual fresh-wipes and kleenex in the armrest console along with a mini flashlight and a life hammer escape thingee (can't reach em in the glove box). Sunglasses and Garage Opener are in overhead bin. CD's in case in floor console. Don't need an ice scraper due to mild winters/garage - think I have one in my rear auto repair case tho. Keep the manual and receipts in the E folder in the house, not in the E. I keep my gas records and any other car care notes in a notebook I keep in the drivers door pocket.
Eventually I will have a small digital camera in there somewhere too - got to find a good hiding spot tho. Maybe I will velcro it under the seat?
I DID put a Dot-It light (orange, natch) in the glove box - now can see inside perfectly.

Yeah, I can understand that. Another reason to have a large glove box, to keep things out of sight. The way I drive I don't like stuff sliding around out in the open... too much chance of injuring myself
Sheniferous 04-19-2006, 02:23 PM It's not the size that counts... it's, um... what you can stuff in it?
Dom.five 04-19-2006, 02:48 PM I wish it had the under seat tray, like my CRV had !
tango 04-19-2006, 06:01 PM I wish it had the under seat tray, like my CRV had !
On mine there isn't any real open space left under the driver's seat and the 8CD changer is under the pass seat. Maybe a difference in seat config between the two? Still think there's room enough to velcro my soon-to-be-added teeny digital camera under the driver's seat tho...
jdiane 04-19-2006, 08:36 PM mine just has the owners manual and the insurance folder thing... there are also a couple of extra plastic pieces that have been there since I got it, dont know what they are or where they go, but they take up most of the room in there...
rjenson 04-19-2006, 09:19 PM Isn't by definition the glove box big enough as long as it holds a pair of gloves or two? :-)
Me I want it to be a TARIDS. I want to be able to put anything/everything in the glove box and have Thing find it for me when I need it. But sadly I haven't found the vehicle yet with that option.
StevieSegel 04-20-2006, 12:13 PM I wish it had the under seat tray, like my CRV had !
My previous car (2001 Toyota Echo) had a passenger side under seat box....I loved it.....I'm starting to miss it.....
PhillyJ 05-02-2006, 09:11 PM Yeah I had to put my owner's manual in the back to make some room. Plus I hate the fact that there is no glove box light.
gfxguy 05-03-2006, 08:04 AM Yeah, more storage space is always desirable. Too bad they can't make it like the Tardis on Dr. Who, where there's more space inside than outside. Hey - it seems like they did it with the Element itself, so why not the glove box?
