: trailer pics and prices please...
disastergrafix 04-20-2006, 08:46 PM I just got my tow hitch on lastnight. Easy install. I have no wiring kit yet, because it costs so much for an 06. I am looking at buying a trailer. 4x8, 5x10 or something like that. Maybe a little flat bed, with foot high sides. It will be for 3 dirtbikes. If you have a trailer and pics, please post them, the brand, the price, and how it works out for you. I would like to find out everything and anything before I buy one. Lay it on me. thanks guys...
paulj 04-20-2006, 09:11 PM These teardrop trailer people seem to know everything about small trailers:

One of the cheapest is sold by Harbor Freight. Another brand is RedTrailers.

Hi! Sorry if this sounds impolite, but did you try "SEARCH"? Or look at ANY of the posts in this Forum that might answer you question?:?

WOW! $425 with the full size wheels. That seems cheap. Nice deal.

It did have full size wheels for that price...but the wheels in the picture were old aluminum set that I had already. The ones that came on it were 14" stock steel with used tires.
it is a good little trailer....it actually has springs and is not a rigid axle. I had to re-wire it almost immediately...they did a sloppy job on it but it was basically using thier wiring and locating it properly so it did not droop under the trailer.

Well you almost can't make it for that price! It took the tounge and axle from an old camper and welded it to a peice of pallet racking 8ft long and made a 4 x 8 trailer. It still cost me about $150 with the wood and lights 10 years ago. And I don't have full size wheels!
Very good price and it looks good too.

disastergrafix 04-21-2006, 10:25 PM Thanks guys, this is the Sh@# that I am looking for. Keep it comming. Thanks IRV, yes I did look through the search posts, I actually spent 5 hours reading everything. I jsut wanted to start my own thread. If no one posts on this site other than general then why be a member. There would be nothing to read and to help each other with. That 4x8 trailer is awsome, that is what I am looking for nice sides, wheels, and springs, can't beat it not bouncing around behind the car. Your $425 must be like $700 here in CA. That sucks, because I don't have that kind of money lying around now. Thanks for the inspiration, and please keep it comming. I would like to see as many as I can.
Marktoonz 04-22-2006, 12:55 AM Awesome trailer, not really for cargo but cool. Pricey

On the plus side...if you are coming to St. Louis, it's not very far at all to come on over to Tennessee and pick one up for $425 or so. My dad pulled it to Arazona when it was a week old (actually 2 days old and he kept it for 2 weeks) so it is no problem to make the trip home.
chapds 04-22-2006, 11:06 AM Yep, the prices here in Cali are crazy. I'm buying a 4x6 Trailer today at Home Depot to lug my quad around. Total is easily gonna be $500 bucks.
Later,
Chap
disastergrafix 04-24-2006, 01:34 AM yeah I had one of those homedepot $600 ones and the dang gate fell off on the highway and now that is screwed down with some long metal screws to the front and the front is now in the rear. No ramp now, but I am not very fond of them. It was really hard to see behind my truck while backing up. I got a nice all metal 5x10 trailer, but it would be too much weight for my element to tow especailly with 3 dirtbikes in the back. Is there any of those harbor freight style trailers with springs in the rear and not a rigid axle? I would think with no load in the trailer that iw ould bounce around like crazy on the highway. Any ideas on that? thanks.
disastergrafix 04-24-2006, 08:45 PM Top...............
L-M-N-T 04-26-2006, 12:16 AM I was looking at some teardrop trailers (small and you can build them yourself.
I saw one somewhere on a site; the guy made as a module to slide into one of those cargo trailers (like the kind you can get at Home Depot). When he's not camping, he can slide it out and use it for cargo, motorcyles, whatever.
disastergrafix 04-27-2006, 06:31 PM that is a really good idea. I really like that style and size of that trailer also. Small sides, nice size wheels, and does not look too cheap. Any ideas what brand it is? thanks for the idea, that was a good one.
ron"E"boy 04-27-2006, 07:40 PM I got one for sale but probably too heavy duty for you. 6x10, 2x6 floor with drop-down tailgate & 3500 axle wt. Great for trailing bikes or doing yard work.
disastergrafix 04-27-2006, 08:35 PM that sound like a really nice trailer. I am in the market for one weighing approx 400lbs. and local, and somewhat cheap. Would also like it to have springs......I bet you will sell that trailer fast. In CA they go quick.
L-M-N-T 04-28-2006, 10:33 AM Here is one link for a homebuilt teardrop.
http://www.tomswenson.com/teardrop/index.shtml
I just googled 'teardrop trailers' and found all kinds of info.
disastergrafix 04-28-2006, 06:28 PM hey good to know. I did not know those teardrops were that popular. I have a small dealership nearby, I will have to check out the frame. Thanks for the help.:)
disastergrafix 05-01-2006, 01:44 AM TOP. I have been looking at some trailers online at notherntool.com. Anyoone have any experience with there stuff? Or know of any other trailers around that might be comaprable and cheaper or nicer and same price?
Rocket Dog 12-08-2007, 08:27 AM Reviving an old thread. Harbor Freight has a sale on their 4x8 non-folding trailer. $269.00 based on an e-coupon I received. Here's the link to the store site.
The Harbor Freight trailer works ok for around town light duty hauling. If you need a more bullet-proof rig to run the highways this is probably not the right trailer for you.
