I've got to stop this. I've been spending money like crazy.
But ArEtha has some waaay bad steppin'-out shooz now.
She's cruisin' on some 235/70R/16 DUELER H/L ALENZAS now. Lawd, it's like a brand new brand new car! No more driving gingerly on those POS Wranglers. These babies stick! I truly believe Honda would sell more ELEMENTS if they put decent tires on as OEM - what a difference! If anyone out there is on the fence about making this investment, DO IT! I have never before gone out and bought new tires when I had perfectly adequate new tires on a new vehicle. Those OEM tires are inadequate. You'll never know just how fabulous that E can handle until you go and get some good rubber on.
Look at it this way - after my rebate, these excellent, wheelwell-filling tires cost me $554, including fat CA tax, mounting, balancing, lifetime rotation, 65,000 mi. warr., dude even threw in a future free oil change! (along with the ones I got from my dealer, it's going to be a long time before I pay for an oil change!) Now I have some nicely wrapped new Goodyears in the back of my E that I'm going to advertise on CraigsList for a really good price (like $200) and sell to someone with a RaV4 or something and make my investment closer to $300. For that very reasonable amount I have the blissful experience of enjoying the true potential of my ELEMENT. It handles like a whole new machine. ArEtha is happy - me, too.
Pictures to follow soon, I have more mods arriving this week via UPS and FedEx. I said I've been spending.
