Guys - i know that i make myself guilty now - but i'm getting desperate in looking for stereo replacement for my E. Here in Swiss - nobody can help my because the wires and plugs are not according the DIN norm - now my idea to buy a system in the US - what do you mean - does it work like that? My favourite is a Blaupunkt system (like above mentioned) - does anybody know, if i need more cables, wires or any attachments or can i just plug and play after buying? Thanks for any kind of reply and sorry for this tread!

FluffEEE, you are dedicated. :)

These two models, the Los Angeles and the Seattle, seem to be only European models, not sold in the United States, but that is what you want, I think. You want to buy a European model. The radio tuners are different in the United States and Europe. A United States radio wouldn't receive in Europe and visa versa. You want a European model.

What I think you need is two adaptor harnesses and a mounting kit.

The first piece would be a Metra 70-1721 harness. One end would plug into the Element's radio plug, the one that leads to your factory amp. The other end is bare wires. Somebody would then have to splice it onto a DIN standard plug (I have to admit I don't know what this is - I'm taking this from your note) but at least you'd have bare wires to work with. The other harness is the radio harness that would convert from the Honda antenna plug to a standard United States Motorola style plug. The Blaupunkt comes with a "aerial connection adaptor" and I'm not sure what that is either, but a Motorola plug has got to be closer to what you'd need. If worse came to worse, you could get another adaptor, strip it down to bare wire, and again attach it to whatever kind of aerial plug that would work with the Blaupunkt.

Finally, you'd need a single DIN mounting kit. As I'm sure you know, the Element is a double DIN radio and you need to come up with a single DIN mounting hole. This piece you could probably get in Europe, but it might be best to buy it on this side of the Atlantic.

To hook up into the subwoofer and the dash aux jack, you'd have to cut off the Honda factory plugs and again get down to bare wire, but I know of no way around this, either here or in Europe.

eMass' wiring diagram, in the sticky on the top of this forum, will give you the colors of the wires you need. As for the harnesses and kit, here they are all from one source, to make your ordering easier.

Metra 99-7863 mounting kit (http://www.installer-data.com/item/display_item.php?it=99-7863) use the ISO brackets that come with your factory radio to mount in the new deck but use this as a trim kit
