My father, an active member of a S2000 club (http://www.s2ki.com), is planning a Make-a-Wish fundraiser by holding a car rally in Pittsburgh.

The date is scheduled for June 25 at 11 AM at the Monroeville Mall in Pittsburgh and all cars are welcome. If the response from the elementownersclub members is large enough, we will be reserved a specific section of the rally with ample extra spaces for late comers. Other details such as costs, contests, drawings, etc. are still being finalized.

Consider this your official early notice before the rest of the site finds out. Geocachers will be able to add this as a find, as well. Let me know via PM or email if you definitely or maybe can come. lof101@gmail.com (mailto:lof101@gmail.com)

Announcing a Meet for all Element Owners - Sunday, June 25, 2006 - Pittsburgh

You are invited to participate in a charity car meet sponsored by the Honda S2000 Club in Pittsburgh. Also participating will be the Element Owners Club (national), the Ridgeline Owners Club (national), the local Miata, Corvette and classic car clubs for Pittsburgh. Other surprise collector vehicles are scheduled to show.

The meet is Sunday, June 25th, 2006. It will be held in the Monroeville Mall parking lot, by Kaufman's, a recently closed anchor for the mall. There will easily be room for 250 cars and everybody will get enough room to open their doors without hitting other cars.

Here is a map of the Monroeville Mall. (http://local.live.com/default.aspx?wip=2&v=2&style=r&rtp=~&&cp=40.42883~-79.79532&lvl=14|810EC3E7|&msnurl=map.aspx?L%3dUSA%26C%3d40.42883%2c-79.79532%26A%3d7.16667%26P%3d%7c810EC3E7%7c%26TI%3 dMonroeville+Mall+(shopping+center)%2c+Monroeville %2c+Pennsylvania%2c+United+States%26redirect%3dfal se&msnculture=en-US) To get there, exit Highway 22, the William Penn Highway, off of either Interstate 76 or 376, east of Pittsburgh, depending on the direction you're coming from.

The event is from 11 AM to 5 PM, Sunday, June 25th. Registration will start at 10 AM.

Registration is $10 will all proceeds going to the Make A Wish Foundation (http://www.wish.org/).

There will also be a charity auction of merchandise donated by local merchants. One of the items will be an Alpine CDA-9856 with their iPodFullSpeed adapter cable, retail value of $260.

We are hoping for a good turn out of Element owners wanting to show off their vehicles. Maybe you can also pick up a trick or two to incorporate into your car. We need a lot of Es to show up. With all of those S2000's there, somebody has to be able to go get the keg!

I know of two Elements that will be there. I will be attending, so if you east coast folks have ever wanted to hear my hi-fi, this will be your chance. Our local representative for the meet, loufrankel, will also be there.

For more information, please either PM loufrankel (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/member.php?u=9920) or me (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/member.php?u=8715).

Come on people! Wake up! This meet is for the kids and we need to make our presence known. Heck, we could park the S2000s that are sponsoring this meet in the back of our E's (with the seats IN!)

If we bring our cars, do we have to be there the whole time, or can we come and go as we please? I would love to come, but I don't think I will be able to stay all day long.

You can leave at any time, but going back and forth (while not prohibited) would be kind of tough with pedestrian and other vehicle traffic at the show.

We're a week away and and I need final numbers, is there anyone else interested in the meet?

How many people are coming so far? I would like to come for part of the day if I can, I have a lot of work to do at the house but if others will be there, I might try to make it.

Hey, I'll be there. All day. I'll also be bringing an Alpine CDA-9856 with the iPod adapter to donate to the cause. It will be auctioned off.

If I'm coming 750 miles, you can drive across town, JPH. I've got to meet you. :D

Folks, I'm bailing on this trip. I started getting a headache this morning when I was re-formatting my computer. It's now built into a full blown migraine. I've spent the afternoon on the couch, trying to see if a nap and relaxation would make it go away. It hasn't. I'm not going to drive 12 hours with a migraine. My eyes are killing me.

Sorry.

I haven't had migraines for maybe 20 years. This is now my third one in the past few months. It sucks.
