Honda recommends cleaning behind the wheels. A good touchless car wash should have options for an underbody wash.

I understand that concern. Here in Panama city Fl we have sand... lots and lots of sand.
sure the roads are paved, but the sand has a way to drift and collect everywhere.
I can't get in my car without tracking it in.
There is'nt a day that goes by that I don[t think about it. It collects inside the engine compartment and I have found it inside the airfilter "element" housing whew hew!
Hmmm... an  would be to purchase some type of rubber, get about 1 square foot for ea. side and cut them to the shape of the opening. I believe there are a few factory holes under ea. side to fasten the rubber with "honda Clips like the ones on the hood.
 in the meantime... enjoy life beyond the walls.

I believe car manufactorers undercoat all of their vehicles.
All the cars I've owned have undercoat

does an undercoating seal up the opening?
unless it does, the problem remains for frenchtoast and her salt.
when i saw that gap, i thought about plowing through standing water
and feared the worst, but trusted the honda engineers to know what they were doing...
in high school i remember a friend showing off through a soaked underpass in his dads jeep-we were on the side of the road for a couple hours waiting to dry out.
